Rey Mysterio reflects on the chance BESTOWED upon him by Triple H

Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio seized the chance that was presented to him, and he is now the No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship. The event at which Rey Mysterio will meet Gunther has yet to be announced.
At first, Mysterio appeared to be quitting the WWE as he spoke with Triple H that he couldn’t bear the torment from his son Dominik on RAW every week and, because Dominik is his son, he was compelled to not hit his beloved son. The Game understood his situation and found a solution for Rey, which was that Rey Mysterio would now appear on SmackDown.
Dominik and Rhea Ripley intervened during his bout against Chad Gable this week on RAW, but Rey ignored him. Following that, Mysterio fought with Gable and delivered a 619 on him to win the match.
After the Match, Dominik entered the ring and smacked Rey while yelling at him to take a punch, but Rey Mysterio again ignored him. He instead fought Finn Balor and Damian Priest who interfered in the match. As he was on his way to deliver the 619 to Finn Balor, he was laid out by his son Dom, who then delivered a 619 on Rey with the help of Rhea Ripley.
Rey Mysterio says that he won’t fight his son Dominik

The Fatal-Four-way match on SmackDown was a phenomenal one and the end we saw Mysterio delivering a 619 to Ricochet to win the match. Rey Mysterio was interviewed by Kayla Braxton in a Digital Exclusive following the show, and he stated that he came on SmackDown with the intention of resigning because it hurts him to see his son go through what he is going through right now, and that he will never fight his son. Mysterio stated that this is his new beginning for him.
“That had a lot to do with it, I’ll tell you what, I came here with my mind set on literally just stepping away from the game. It hurts me to see my son go through what he is going through right now and I just will never fight him. But this opened up my eyes in a different way. This is a new beginning for Rey Mysterio.”
The last time Rey Mysterio fought for a singles Championship was on June 17th 2021 edition of SmackDown, where he fought against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in a Hell in a Cell match, making it the first Hell in a Cell match to take place on SmackDown.
