Rhea Ripley has announced her engagement to former WWE superstar, Buddy Matthews. The couple has been dating for a while and made their relationship official in May 2022. Their love life has often been talked about by wrestling fans, as they frequently share photos online of themselves working out.
Buddy and Rhea met during the pandemic era in 2020. Despite this, they never appeared on-screen together. Even though the former left the Stamford-based promotion to join a rival company, AEW, their bond remained stronger. The Eradicator took to her Instagram account to share the good news.
Rhea Ripley posted a photo of the couple sharing the moment with the caption,“1000x YES! Pure Fu*king happiness!” The talented duo of Aussie wrestlers will soon tie the knot, as members of the WWE Universe wished them well. Ripley’s recent post reveals her elation, as it is a significant chapter in her life.
The Eradicator is currently the Women’s World Champion while serving as a member of the dominant faction, the Judgment Day. She is involved in an on-screen relationship with her fellow teammate, Dominik Mysterio. Meanwhile, Buddy Matthews is one-third of the AEW Trio’s Champion with his stablemates in the group, House Of Black.
Rhea Ripley appeared on NXT to help Dominik Mysterio win
Dominik Mysterio has been rising to prominence as part of the Judgment Day. He recently won the NXT North American Championship, granting him his first singles title win in the WWE. Evidently, this has led to Dominik regularly appearing on the Yellow brand.
Moreover, his on-screen partner, Rhea Ripley, has been a crucial part of this achievement. On a recent episode of NXT, the third-generation superstar defended his title against Dragon Lee. It was a good back-and-forth bout between the two. Obviously, he was accompanied by Rhea, who helped him pick up the victory.
During the post-match angle, Rey Mysterio confronted the Judgment Day members before Lyra Valkyria attacked Ripley. The pair are no strangers to inviting enemies, whether it be on RAW or NXT. Therefore, it will be interesting to see if the Eradicator defends her championship on the Yellow brand as well.
