Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns

Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is finally over. For the first time since returning to WWE, Cody Rhodes will go face-to-face with Roman Reigns this Friday on SmackDown. Last night on Raw, The American Nightmare wrestled a clinic with Chad Gable. Despite of the masterful articulary presented by the Olympian, Rhodes emerged victorious. After the match, the Prodigal Son announced that he’ll be there in Washington D.C this week in the same building as Roman Reigns.

Initially, the official graphic read that both men will just appear live on the show. However, just maybe Hunter decided to flip through the second and up the ante. As a result, Paul Heyman later confirmed that one way or the other, Reigns & Rhodes are going to confront each other in the nation’s capital this week. The adrenaline is already pumping & flowing through the veins for that inevitable yet generation worthy faceoff. Needless to say, the numbers will shoot up for this week’s broadcast on FOX.

With under 33 days to go for WrestleMania, WWE felt the need to accelerate things up. As a matter of fact, Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes. Without mentioning, it’s their biggest match on that card. So, the build-up needs to justify the moniker as well. Until now, Reigns’ Special Counsel Paul Heyman has trash talked Cody Rhodes on different occasions on the red brand.

But as they say, enough is enough. All hell is about to break lose when The Tribal Chief stands across The Prodigal Son on Friday. Crowd will eagerly wait the arrival of these two masters of their game. There’s so much stuff to tell between both second generation athletes. For Rhodes, it’s a matter of doing the unthinkable and bestow the gold upon his late father. However, Reigns will look to cross 1000 days as the World Champion and retain his title at WrestleMania.

What else Roman Reigns needs to take care of this Friday?

Before shifting his complete focus towards Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed Champion needs to settle the differences within his own family. As seen, the fractures has already started to develop in The Bloodline ever since Royal Rumble. Jey Uso is mentally torn and unable to pick sides between Sami Zayn and his own blood. Also, the Right Hand Man is serving the pain of getting shoved off by the hands of Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber.

The story is now entering it’s climax and everyone is completely hooked at this point. Whatever the payoff is, these forthcoming weeks are going to surpass the literal sense of perfect storytelling. The Bloodline has told the most superior tale in professional wrestling over the past decade or so. Each member of the family has done their work to absolute perfection.
