Standing at 902 days as the Universal Champion in WWE, Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed Titles against the hometown hero in Sami Zayn tonight.

It’s finally Saturday ladies and gentlemen. Undoubtedly, one of the most-awaited weekends in wrestling history is bound for a ginormous pay-off. As it stands, Roman Reigns will enter a disastrously vocal Montreal crowd to defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Sami Zayn. The people of Quebec would be dying to boo Reigns out of the Bell Centre, if he wins tonight.
Much like John Cena got destroyed on ECW’s One Night Stand in 2006, The Tribal Chief should expect a similar treatment from Montreal. The disdain for Reigns in the hearts of Canadiens is unreal. It’s there to a level such that during last night’s SmackDown broadcast from the Bell Centre, over 15,000 in attendance chanted “F*ck you Roman“. After such crowd hijacking, WWE was forced to mute the audio, and even blacked out the screens.
Just hours before stepping into the battleground tonight, Roman Reigns has issued a final message. Taking it to his official Twitter account, The Undisputed Champ tweeted out, “Tonight, your city is mine.” If something would’ve stopped the city of Montreal from expressing their anger for The Head of the Table, this tweet will ignite that sense of disdain once again. Well, Roman Reigns may enter the Elimination Chamber well-groomed, however, there’s no certainty about his well-being on his way out of the arena.

Vince McMahon reportedly having inputs in this Roman Reigns/Sami Zayn saga
Adding more spice to the already red-hot drama between Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn, former Head of creative Vince McMahon is back to the base. After assuring people of his distant approach on WWE’s creative department, the 77-year however feels the need to poke his nose, for some reason. According to a recent tweet from Xero News, he’s iterating and instructing Triple H to keep the titles on Roman Reigns. The quest is being made for at least the “forseeable future“.
Previously, it was noted how McMahon has deferred the final say on Hunter for making any creative decision. But, as been his nature from decades, Vince just can’t let WWE go ahead without his fingerprints. There’s been a massive outrage ever since the report surfaced online. Time will tell what happens next. For what it’s worth, tonight marks probably the most important date for WWE in nearly a decade. They have to get it right, anyhow.
