The current World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, was visibly not happy with CM Punk’s return. When he came out to address the WWE Universe this week on Raw, he completely ignored the CM Punk chants. However, Rollins shed light on the future of the World Heavyweight Title as he revealed Jey Uso to be the next challenger.

The Visionary shifted the topic from CM Punk and talked about defending his title, but before he could say anything, Drew McIntyre interrupted him. Drew challenged Seth for the title, but unfortunately, The Champion had chosen another person to challenge him for that title. Moreover, adding insult to Drew’s injury, that person was revealed to be Jey Uso.

Hearing Jey’s name, an enraged Drew immediately attacked Rollins for giving his arch-nemesis the title opportunity instead of him. The former Bloodline member came out and saved the Champion from Drew’s wrath. Jey Uso and Seth Rollins look on the same page, as they have been on good terms since winning the WarGames match at Survivor Series.

CM Punk implicitly references Seth Rollins during his promo on Monday Night RAW

CM Punk made his appearance on this week’s Raw and addressed the WWE Universe after nine long years. He said he still couldn’t believe that he was standing in the WWE ring, holding a mic, and talking to the fans. He expressed his gratitude to all the fans and people who greeted him backstage, except somebody.

During his promo, Punk said he was welcomed by everybody, but he hesitated and said, “Well, almost everybody.” It was clearly meant for Seth Rollins, as the latter showed his disdain for Punk and even expressed it in many interviews. Seth’s hostile reaction towards Punk made people very shocked and engaged by this mutual animosity between both superstars.

It looks like WWE has been cooking up a potential feud between CM Punk and Seth Rollins. The latter has bad blood with the Second City Saint, as he called him cancer in one of his interviews. Therefore, WWE could look to cash in on the opportunity. It will be interesting to see when they ever cross paths.
