Former WWE Champion CM Punk made a stunning return to WWE on Survivor Series 2023. While the whole Allstate Arena erupted in applause for their hometown hero, Seth Rollins wasn’t pleased with the arrival of the Best in The World. The superstar had an angry outburst upon seeing Punk at the end of the show. Such an outraged reaction begs the question of whether or not these two have real-life beef.

The Visionary has expressed his antipathy for the Second City Saint on more than one occasion. During the pre-pandemic era, CM Punk returned to WWE in a non-wrestling role on Fox Backstage. An overenthusiastic Rollins challenged the 45-year-old to a match on his X (previously Twitter). However, Punk rejected his challenge and warned him to stop tweeting about him when he was asked to comment on Rollins’ tweet.

Many fans, on the other hand, believe that the 37-year-old has fallen out with CM Punk because of the latter’s inflammatory comments in the past. Following his departure from WWE, the Straight Edge Superstar voiced his frustrations with the company on Colt Cabana’s podcast. During the podcast, Punk stated that he had a completely different wrestling mindset from the other superstars.

I have a very strong philosophy about the business, and I don't think a guy like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, I don't think they do. I don't think they look at it and question things and say to management why are we taking a guy, you know who is going to be here every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. And why is he losing to all the part-timers?

He noted that wrestlers such as Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) do not call out management about full-time wrestlers working for part-timers. As a result, many fans speculate that the former felt berated by the 45-year-old’s remark. Rollins also referred to CM Punk as a “cancer” earlier this year, following the latter’s All Out dispute.

Seth Rollins once called CM Punk a “CANCER,” and warned him to stay away from WWE

Seth Rollins and CM Punk may not have a long-standing animosity for a reasonable cause. However, the superstars aren’t the best of friends either. In fact, both stars have often taken nasty shots at each other on multiple occasions. Seth Rollins referred to the Straight Edge Superstar as a cancer in an interview earlier this year.

During an interview with Nick Hausman, Seth Rollins was asked to share his thoughts on CM Punk. This was after the All Out incident, during which Punk earned the ignominy of locker room cancer. To add fuel to the fire, Rollins referred to the 45-year-old as a cancer and advised him to stay away from WWE. However, CM Punk has returned to WWE in less than a year, much to Rollins’ chagrin.

Survivor Series 2023 may have come to an end. However, the WWE superstars still had a couple of house shows scheduled in the state. Speaking of which, Seth Rollins recently commented on Punk’s shocking comeback at the recent WWE live event in Peoria, Illinois. Rollins went ballistic earlier on Saturday when the Second City Saint arrived at Survivor Series.

In the midst of the house show, the Illinois crowd erupted in CM Punk chants. Reacting to the crowd, Rollins stated that he will not waste his time and energy on someone who has been gone for eight years. Furthermore, he stated that CM Punk has done nothing but demonize the company.

I'm not going to waste any more breath on anyone who has been gone for eight years, has done nothing but try to tear this place down. I want to use my breath to talk about the people who worked to make WWE the hottest ticket in town.

He concluded his statement by saying that he would rather use his energy on someone who brings a positive impact to the company. Moreover, WWE fans have been speculating that WWE has already started sowing the seeds for CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins. The word on the internet is that the two men will likely main event on night 1 of WrestleMania 40.
