There are several heel wrestlers in WWE at this moment. However, only a few of them seem to generate genuine heat from the crowd. It seems Dominik Mysterio is one of them, and even the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels, agrees with that. Recently, Michaels revealed that he ranks the current NXT North American Champion in high regard.

While talking to Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat Podcast, Michaels heaped high praise on Dominik Mysterio as the hardest-working man in the business. He called Mysterio the most valuable player in WWE this year and compared his presence to that of Iron Man for everyone.

But Dom has, to me, Dominik Mysterio, MVP of the WWE this year. Every time he comes here, I look at him as the hardest-working man in the show business. He has just been an ironman for us.

Mysterio had a fabulous start in professional wrestling by being beside his father, Rey Mysterio. When the creative felt his growth was stalled, they added him to The Judgment Day, and since then, he has been flourishing as a heel. Arenas booms with boos when he enters and seems to catch everyone’s eye. He will defend his title next against NXT’s Wes Lee.

Dominik Mysterio achieved a milestone that Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and Roman Reigns failed to do this year

Dominik Mysterio, alongside The Judgment Day, has become a staple face of the Red Brand. Recent statistics show a stupefying achievement on his part where he has surpassed the likes of Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and Roman Reigns. He has come second in the list of stars who’ve wrestled most this year.

Mysterio’s name comes after Cody Rhodes who has topped the list with 99 matches. Dirty Dom is barely falling short as he has 95 matches under his belt. The Visionary bags the third position with 92 matches in his account.

Hence, Dominik has surpassed Rollins by a narrow margin. Meanwhile, the Tribal Chief doesn’t even come close to Dirty Dom as he has only wrestled 11 matches in 2023. With such stats on his side, it doesn’t seem an exaggeration when legends like Shawn Michaels call him the hardest-working man in the show business at such a young age.
