This week’s edition was one of the most anticipated episodes of Monday Night Raw in the recent history of WWE. The red brand was abuzz with exciting segments and matches. That being said, Shinsuke Nakamura viciously ambushed Cody Rhodes after weeks of cryptic promos, revealing the latter as the mystery opponent he was chasing.

Shinsuke Nakamura has been dropping backstage promos while sitting in a dark room for the past few weeks. The King of Strong Style alluded to a mystery opponent in all his promos, leaving the WWE Universe perplexed. Almost a month later, Nakamura interrupted Cody Rhodes’ promo to blindside the latter by misting on his face.

The American Nightmare appeared on the show pertaining to his team’s recent WarGames triumph and to officially declare himself for the Royal Rumble. The lights went off shortly after the promo, and Nakamura appeared on the throne. The 42-year-old congratulated Rhodes on his huge victory. Furthermore, he acknowledged that Cody needed to continue his story. Watch the video.

However, Nakamura, on the other hand, wants a piece of The Prodigal Son to set himself free. He asserted that he would bring chaos to Rhodes. As soon as the light went up, Shinsuke blindsided the 38-year-old and spattered red mist across his face. Earlier, the WWE Universe was under the belief that Shinsuke Nakamura was targeting the recently returned CM Punk in his promos.

The latest edition of Monday Night Raw emanated from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The program was filled with star-studded portions, including appearances from returning superstars like Randy Orton and CM Punk. Having said that, The American Nightmare took the time to make a declaration about his participation in the upcoming Royal Rumble.

The 38-year-old made his way to the ring to a thunderous response from the crowd. Rhodes went on to acknowledge his teammates for helping him secure an unforgettable victory at Survivor Series. Later, he thanked Randy Orton for assisting him in getting the pin at WarGames, a match that his late father introduced. Soon after, the superstar reminded the fans of his ultimate goal in WWE.

Moreover, Cody Rhodes suggested that he still has one more story to finish. The 38-year-old later declared his intention to compete in the upcoming Royal Rumble. The superstar was, however, attacked by Shinsuke Nakamura in a few moments. Rhodes, nevertheless, is the current favorite to win the 2024 Rumble for a second consecutive time. The superstar has yet to finish his saga with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
