WWE business is booming as the company is firing on all cylinders in terms of their live attendance. However, last afternoon, a report from Dave Meltzer invoked a spree of havoc on social media.

According to him, next year’s Elimination Chamber in Australia was struggling to sell tickets. His estimates had the show tottering at about 8,000 tickets sold. That’s a seriously low number to begin with.

Fans on the internet were quick to lash out and call out the renowned journalist, thinking that it was impractical. Eventually, what they thought was true as Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful debunked the figure issued by Meltzer.

According to the Fightful reporter, the actual number of tickets sold for the premium live event in Western Australia is already north of 30,000. Moreover, WWE is planning to send Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio to Perth this week to do some media for the event.

But the question is: how did Dave Meltzer get the number that adrift? WrestleTix, the most reliable source for ticketing information about wrestling events, posted that Dave might’ve read the wrong number from his spreadsheet.

The figure that Meltzer put out was the number of available tickets for the Elimination Chamber as per the current capacity. As of writing, WWE still has a long way to go until the big one in Down Under.

The matches expected to happen at the event would begin to shape up following the Royal Rumble. Out of the currently advertised names for the Elimination Chamber, Roman Reigns‘ absence is one glaring omission. However, US Champion Logan Paul is now being promoted for the namesake event in Perth.

Is Rhea Ripley expected to headline Elimination Chamber 2024?

Last year, in October, Rhea Ripley had an exclusive interview with 7News Adelaide. The media outlet implicitly stated that the Women’s World Champion would headline the Elimination Chamber PLE.

However, it might not happen. According to a report from Haus of Wrestling, it could be a matter of local media doing their shtick. The report also added that The Eradicator will be on the show and the creative will dictate her direction.

Right now, it’s still early days to determine who Ripley could face in her home country. Also, a senior member of WWE’s PR team shed some light upon a report that stated that Dwayne Johnson might wrestle at the event. However, the source denoted it being a case of “tabloids being tabloids”.
