The Deadman Undertaker cultivated an extensive fanbase across his three-decade-long wrestling career. The WWE Hall of Famer is not only a distinguished star in the USA, but he is also a household name in India. The Phenom was one of the few superstars who popularized WWE in the Indian subcontinent in the late 90s and early 2000s. Speaking of India, Taker recently expressed his desire to visit the country.
The 58-year-old had a brief conversation with senior journalist Bill Apter. During his appearance in the interview, Taker became the first recipient of the Bill Apter Legacy Award. The inaugural award was given to celebrate the veteran journalist completing 51 years in the wrestling business. While thanking SportsKeeda for honoring him, The Deadman expressed his longing desire to visit India once.

Raving about his fans in India, The Undertaker stated that he would love to get back to India before winding up his commitments with WWE. The Phenom boasts a loyal fan following in the country to this date. The 58-year-old was so popular in India that an Undertaker-impersonator character was featured in the 1996 Bollywood movie “Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi.”
Hopefully, one day I'm gonna get back to India. Uh, I know I have a huge, uh, fanbase over there and I will get back there before it's all said and done. [5:28-5:40]The Undertaker on SportsKeeda interview with Bill Apter
WWE toured India for a live event in 1996 and later in 2017. But The Deadman was seemingly not a part of either of the shows. Two months ago, the Stamford-based promotion re-visited the country after almost five years for “Superstar Spectacle.” Considering the success of the said event, WWE may bring another house show to the Indian audience. However, whether the Undertaker makes an appearance or not remains in the hands of the higher-ups.
The Undertaker names Andre The Giant as his dream opponent whom he never got to wrestle
The Undertaker has indisputably carved out an illustrious career in WWE. He went on to achieve numerous accolades in his three-decade-long run. But the Phenom is most fondly remembered for his iconic character work as “The Deadman” and the classic rivalries he has had with the likes of Shawn Michaels and Kane.

Despite being part of some of the most iconic feuds in the history of the company, the Deadman yearns to have faced legendary wrestler Andre The Giant. Famously called The Eight Wonder of The World, the late Andre was one of the first behemoths to grace the Stamford-based promotion. Speaking in the interview with SportsKeeda, Taker revealed his unfulfilled wish of wrestling Andre The Giant.
The match that I’d wish I had that I never got the opportunity to is with Andre. That was always a dream of mine. Andre’s health was really - when I got here, his health was already in decline with his back and his knees and everything. The Undertaker on Sportskeeda interview
The 58-year-old stated that the legendary WWE wrestler’s health was already declining by the time Taker debuted in WWE in 1990. The Undertaker added that Andre never liked big guys, but he was really fond of the former. Although the WWE Hall of Famer had an idea to work on a feud with the Phenom, it never came to fruition, said Taker.
