Former Women’s World Champions Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out of WWE in May 2022 due to creative frustrations. The news came as a surprise to the fans and WWE Universe, as the women were the Tag Team Champions at the time. During a recent interview, Naomi, aka Trinity Fatu, revealed that not a lot of superstars from WWE tried to keep in touch with both women after their departure.
While talking to the New York Post, Fatu revealed that only Tamina Snuka and Bayley stayed in constant touch with them. She also added, “We just had each other going through that. Nobody understands the magnitude of what happened and what really went on and why we feel the way we feel and where we are but me and her and the people that were involved that day. It just goes to show how real our friendship is and how real all of this is.”
Tamina Snuka and Trinity Fatu are related as they both belong to the same Anoa’i family. Fatu is married to Jimmy Uso, while Tamina is the daughter of Superfly Jimmy Snuka. The Rock, Roman Reigns, Rikishi, The Usos, and many others belong to the same reputed family.
On the other hand, Sasha Banks aka Mercedes Mone and Bayley share a long history. The two have been great friends on screen as well as off-screen. They were the inaugural Tag Team Champions and held all the championships in WWE at one point.
Trinity Fatu open to working with Mercedez Mone again in the ring
In the same interview, Fatu discussed the possibility of ever working with her former tag team partner. She revealed that if she were to ever team up with another superstar, it would only be Mercedes Mone. However, Naomi did not clarify whether she plans to go to WWE ever again.
The former Champion said, “I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else other than her, whatever that is. I’ll always do what’s best for her, what’s best for me, and what’s best for the business.” Fatu continues to be optimistic about her career, as she is currently involved in the championship feud in Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Division.
Fans will have to wait and see if the former Tag Team champions ever team up again. There are currently no reports or rumors indicating the superstars’ return to WWE. As of now, both women are working in different wrestling promotions.
