Vince McMahon’s Netflix documentary reportedly in works, famous documentary director roped in for production
Things since past year don’t seem to have worked out in Vince McMahon’s favour. From facing sexual misconduct allegations to being surrounded by the rumours of his company being sold off, Vince has seen everything that he wouldn’t have wanted to see on a normal day. The landscape of WWE changed forever when Vince McMahon announced his retirement from the company in all capacity on 22 nd July via a tweet.
The move came after Vince was accused of paying hush money to former employees to maintain their silence on alleged sexual misconduct in the company. After the matter came to the light, Vince was criticised all around the world and even had to temporarily step down from his position until he took his retirement in July 2022.

As the news spread various ventures related to McMahon and WWE were being viewed in jeopardy but it would not be wrong to say that the company handled the situation well. One of the things that was scrapped after allegations was the Netflix documentary on McMahon’s life which promised a sneak peak into a side of McMahon’s life that very few people are aware of.
It was reported that Netflix had cancelled McMahon’s much awaited documentary which was already in process after the revelation of charges. But now a latest report from Wrestling Observer’s newsletter reveals that the production of the documentary which had stopped after Netflix cancelled plans to release it, is about to begin soon.
The project seems to have gotten the green signal from the company again. According to reports the award winning documentary filmmaker Chris Smith is currently leading the production for WWE. Reports also stated that another documentary and a book on McMahon’s life is already in the process as well.
Notably, after McMahon’s retirement the torch has been passed to his daughter Stephanie McMahon“ who has assumed the role of new Chairwoman of the company and also the Co-CEO with Nick Khan and her husband Triple H became the Creative Head of the company. Vince’s retirement has been described as a game changer as there have been considerable changes in the programming and booking style of the company as well and fans are elated to see this new change.
