Just a week away from their huge title match, Charlotte Flair delivers some confrontational words to her WrestleMania opponent Rhea Ripley. Not only that, but The Queen also interestingly name-drops some big female superstars who infamously left the company.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Charlotte Flair made her way down the ring for a promo segment by herself. The SmackDown Women’s champion addressed what Rhea Ripley said last week mentioning that Flair doesn’t “fear” her future opponent. While she mentions that her opponent’s assessment is right, Charlotte goes on to say that she still respects The Eradicator.
“The only thing I fear is my own potential,” the champion said, sending a message to her challenger. And then Charlotte Flair went on to address the other female wrestlers who had earned her respect, starting with the recently released The Bella Twins. But they were not the only ones as The Queen even named Sasha Banks who infamously walked out on WWE last year.
The incident pleasantly shocked The WWE Universe as the company usually tries to cut away all ties with such superstars. Hence, even getting a mention in Charlotte Flair’s “respected” wrestlers becomes quite significant. The Bella Twins recently rebranded themselves, adopting their real names as the Garcia Twins. Meanwhile, Sasha Banks has also moved away from WWE, quite literally. The superstar who now goes by the name Mercedes Mone is the current IWGP Women’s Champion.

Rhea Ripley seeks redemption against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania
While some may argue that the built-in Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley match hasn’t been particularly good, it’s difficult to deny that the story behind it is fascinating. The two first competed in a singles competition three years ago at WrestleMania 36 for the NXT Championship. Since then, both superstars have elevated themselves to such a status that their match is now one of the front-runners for headlining Night 1 of WrestleMania.
Regardless, a win for Rhea Ripley at the Showcase of the Immortals remains a necessity for her. The Eradicator has never pinned or submitted Charlotte Flair in a singles competition, raising the stakes of the match. It is safe to say that Rhea Ripley is motivated by something far greater than just the SmackDown Women’s Championship. It is not only her shot at immortality but a shot at redemption on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
