WWE shows often host dark matches after the live TV broadcast ends. Similarly, after this week’s Friday Night SmackDown went off-air, the WWE Universe witnessed another set of spectacular matches. One of them was Cody Rhodes squaring against current NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio.

Unlike his usual entrances with his Mami, Rhea Ripley, Dirty Dom arrived solo this time. The match brought a quick victory for Rhodes as he followed up Cody Cutter with Cross Rhodes. All in all, it was a happy send-off to the Brooklyn crowd that stayed after SmackDown went off the air.

The match was filled with lots of showboating on the part of the American Nightmare. He made sure the crowd enjoyed as he carried Mysterio in the position of a stalling suplex. Meanwhile, Dirty Dom enjoyed taunting the crowd as he successfully engaged in his heel tactics.

Before their match, the crowd also witnessed a dark match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. The Visionary was once again successful in silencing the sinister Japanese star. The King of Strong Style can be seen going away after the defeat as The Visionary basked in the ring with people singing his song.

UFC legend Daniel Cormier believes that Cody Rhodes is the one who should dethrone Roman Reigns

UFC Legend Daniel Cormier likes to keep a close eye on what’s happening in WWE. While he admires the Ring General Gunther, he is also a firm believer in the capabilities of Cody Rhodes. In his recent edition of ‘The MMA Hour’ Podcast, he explained the American Nightmare has to be the one to dethrone Roman Reigns.

“Cody Rhodes has to beat Roman Reigns. Has to be Cody…. I’m there the whole time [at WrestleMania 39] just hoping he loses because I know how much it’s gonna hurt these people because in their sadness I find joy."
Daniel Cormier in his Podcast

Cormier recounted his experience at WrestleMania 39. He also recalled how he loved seeing him lose at that point because people wanted him to win. Quite maliciously, he revealed how he finds contentment in seeing WWE Universe upset with an unwanted result. All in all, it means a lot when legends like him predict something big for The American Nightmare at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
