WWE has already announced that it will now concentrate on the international market. They have been attempting to build their business in a variety of areas. One of the most important regions in which they are attempting to establish themselves is India. The only subcontinent on the globe with a population of more than one billion people has one of the largest markets on the planet.

WWE has been attempting this setup through special events, and another special show was scheduled for 2023. The date had been set for January 18th, but it has been pushed back. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the cancellation is due to Sony, who was planning to organize with WWE.

Another major brand in India, Zee, is in the process of merging with Sony. Because of this merger, the plans were pushed back, and WWE may now organize the event after April of next year. The event may even take place after the largest stage of them all, WrestleMania, is held in Las Vegas.

The Report stated, “The 1/18 show that was scheduled for Hyderabad, India where Sony Six (WWE’s television partner) was bringing in WWE for a big live event to be built around the Indian talent and some of the other major stars, is now off. The decision was made by Sony Six, which is merging with Zee in India, to hold off the show until the merger is finalized. The merger is expected to go through in April, so the show would take place after April.”
