For the past few days, WWE has been hyping up the release of their annual video game, WWE 2K24. Especially the rumors about who the cover star might be were the talk of the town. But on January 22, 2024, the official trailer was launched, and covers for the game were revealed. And the cover star is none other than The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes, who plays a massive role in the trailer too.
The trailer starts with the moment that shook the world when Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 39. Cody, who was focused on finishing his story at that time, faced the greatest setback and was disappointed. But the trailer picked up that thing and continued the ‘finishing story’ bit as their motive, as Roman Reigns stated it (2K24), to be the story of legacy.
Then came Bianca Belair, also with her WrestleMania 39 moment, defeating Asuka. She added that she had gotten the EST story. Then came Rhea Ripley, again, whose win at Mania was shown when she defeated Charlotte Flair. For a change, The Eradicator stated that she would rip the page out of our story! One can pre-order the game now, as the release date is scheduled for March 8, 2024.
Another iconic moment saw Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant‘s bout at WrestleMania 3. Hulkster stated his story began at the very beginning, which was followed by a leg drop. Then came ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, who stated his story is full of ass whoop showing his match against Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13.
The most remarkable moment was The Undertaker‘s devastating Chokeslam on Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25 and later stating that he would end our story. The game will concentrate on relieving the 40 years of WrestleMania. New match types like Casket Match and guest referee mode seem to have been added. The new career mode experiences will allow the players to finish out stories with WWE stars.
WWE Universe goes gaga over the WWE 2K24 trailer
The first trailer for WWE 2K24 has been released and is hyping up the experience it will provide. The cover star, Cody Rhodes, plays a major role as the motto of the game, based on his tagline. The video game will reach the markets on March 8, 2024, which could be bought with a pre-sale already being started.
The trailer posted on WWEgames’ official X handle is being shared and reposted heavily. The comment behind the post looks interesting and reflects the WWE Universe’s excitement. The callbacks to the greatest WrestleMania moments and mentions of iconic superstars were loved by wrestling fans.
The American Nightmare being on the cover of the game also represents the company right now. Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley also found a spot on the deluxe edition of the game. Another cover of WWE 2K24 emphasizes the 40th anniversary of WrestleMania and might celebrate the same in the game.
