WWE superstar Baron Corbin’s career has been on a downward trajectory for the last couple of years. Despite once being a top star in WWE, he has descended into a jobber on the main roster. However, he captured his first win in a long time during a WWE live event in Paris. It looks like things might change for him very soon.
Baron Corbin was once at the top, being a part of some compelling storylines. He even became an authoritarian figure in a storyline and served as a“Constable” on the main roster. The 38-year-old also won the “King of the Ring” tournament. However, all that went away when Corbin lost to Shinsuke Nakamura in a “Battle for Crown” match. Since then, WWE did not involve him in any relevant storylines.
Corbin has also been on a losing streak, facing 22 losses in a row. His last win was way back in November 2022. As a result, fans gave up on him and have been skeptical about WWE pushing him on the main roster.
Baron Corbin was a part of WWE’s live tour of Europe this week. During the live event in Paris that took place on April 29, Corbin won his first match in a long time. The entire show had a lot of memorable moments, but Corbin’s victory was the most notable one. It also received a great reaction from the fans, who also cheered him on for his incredible victory.
Baron Corbin faced Rick Boogs in a singles match. Corbin stole a victory with a quick roll-up. As a result, the crowd erupted in loud cheers. The former United States Champion finally broke his streak of 22 straight losses. Even though this was a non-televised event, a win is still a win.
After the match, the crowd even gave a standing ovation to Corbin as he celebrated his first victory in months. This was definitely a big moment for him. It will be interesting to see whether the 38-year-old continues his momentum on the main roster. Watch the video here.
Will Baron Corbin be drafted in WWE Draft 2023?
It’s safe to say that Baron Corbin has been pretty much out of luck ever since he dropped the crown to Shinsuke Nakamura. Triple H put him in a storyline with JBL, but the partnership didn’t last long after Corbin went on a losing streak. The Hall of Famer turned his back on Corbin after belittling him. Moreover, WWE showed him in backstage segments where other superstars were seen mocking and ridiculing him.
Baron Corbin wasn’t a part of the WWE Draft last year. This year could be the same for him, as his name was nowhere to be seen on the list of superstars eligible for the draft. Although there is still another night of the draft, it’s very likely that Corbin might not get drafted this year as well. This can lead to a change in his gimmick. Fans, on the other hand, have been waiting to see Corbin get a push. After all, Baron Corbin is the superstar who handed Roman Reigns his last pinfall defeat back in 2019 in a singles competition.
