The Intercontinental Champion Gunther has been a dominant force in the WWE since he won the title. Since he is a powerful and ruthless champion, he expects his team members Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci to follow the same. Kaiser showed his different personality when he viciously attacked Kofi Kingston.
On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, The Ring General returned after a few weeks of rest. He addressed the WWE Universe, declared that he would be entering the Royal Rumble, and vowed to win it. After that, he turned his attention to Kaiser and appreciated him for destroying Kofi. The latter’s dear friend and member of The New Day, Xavier Woods, interrupted them and challenged Kaiser for a match.
After Woods challenged him, they went straight into the fight in an impromptu match. The bout saw an intense back-and-forth tussle as both competitors tried to destroy each other. However, Woods’ anger cost him the match, as he was disqualified after attacking Kaiser with the same chair that was thrown at Kofi.
Even after the match ended, the New Day member unleashed his wrath on Kaiser as revenge for his friend. They did not stop there, however, as Kaiser again attacked Woods backstage but was fended off by Jey Uso. The rivalry between The New Day & Jey Uso and Imperium is gaining steam. It will be interesting to see what chapter unfolds next with the Royal Rumble PLE less than a couple of weeks away.
Jey Uso’s interference after saving Xavier Woods could set up a big title match
After Xavier Woods attacked Ludwig Kaiser during the match, he sought revenge and launched an attack on The New Day member backstage. However, Jey Uso saved him from the vicious attack of Kaiser. Some fans are already speculating that this might lead to a rivalry between Gunther and Jey for the I.C. Title.
The 38-year-old is already a tag team legend, with multiple championships to his name. However, he hasn’t won a singles title in his entire career. Jey has expressed his desire to win a singles title in many interviews, so it would make perfect sense for him to go after The Ring General.
Jey Uso has yet to declare himself in the Royal Rumble, but he will look forward to winning the match and headline WrestleMania. Jey saving Woods has already planted the seeds of a potential high-voltage match between him and Gunther. Only time will tell what the future holds for both parties.
