WWE NXT results – 25/05/2021 (Finn Balor vs Karrion Kross, Franky Monet makes her in-ring debut)

Balor and Kross
The episode of WWE NXT featured the long-awaited rematch between Finn Balor and Karrion Kross for the WWE NXT Championship. Franky Monet made her in-ring debut too, as NXT geared up for their upcoming PPV, TakeOver: in Your House.
Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon def. Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai
Raquel Gonzalez dominated against Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart with her raw power. Moon managed to get a few near falls over Gonzalez but was caught in a mid-cross body. Gonzalez slammed Moon, and Dakota Kai tagged in. She entered with a leaping double-foot stomp.
Moon tagged Blackheart in. She caught Kai with a reverse slingblade before hitting a running senton into the ropes. They double teamed Kai with an elbow drop/standing moonsault combination. Blackheart locked Kai in a Texas Cloverleaf in the middle of the ring, but Kai refused to tap out.
Gonzalez tagged in but was hit with a series of elbow drops. A handspring dropkick and a Codebreaker took Gonzalez down but Kai distracted Moon and made the save. Gonzalez and Kai hit an elevated Go To Kick, but Blackheart broke the pin up.
Gonzalez saved Kai from doom but even she was taken down by the opponents. Moon trapped Kai in a modified STF but Gonzalez made the save. Moon even countered the one-armed powerbomb with the Eclipse. Moon and Blackheart hit Kai with the dominator/cutter combination for the win.
After the match, Raquel Gonzalez attacked Blackheart at the ringside.
Pete Dunne def. Bobby Fish
As the match began, Bobby Fish went into an all-out attack mode. But a shot to the jaw with the forearm, brought Dunne back into the match. He maintained the pressure with some kicks to the shoulder.
Fish tried to fight back, and pushed Dunne into the corner of the ring. He even managed to counter a leaping forearm with a spinebuster. Fish trapped Dunne with a sleeper in the middle of the ring. Pete managed to break away with an attack onto Fish’s fingers.
The action continued outside the ring. Dunne drove Fish into the barricade with a running knee. Fish countered the standing Kimura Lock with an exploder into the ropes.
Fish unsuccessfully tried to prevent the finger snap. Dunne slipped through his feet and hit the Bitter End for the win. After the match Dunne and Oney Lorcan attacked Fish but the officials ran in to separate them.
Mercedes Martinez def. Zayda Ramier
Ramier hit a series of strikes at the start of the match and even managed to get a near-fall. But Martinez took her down with a rolling forearm, followed by a couple of butterfly suplexes.
Martinez hit some elbows from the top turnbuckle and even prevented her from hitting a Shooting Star Press. She tossed Ramier off the top and hit a knee followed by an Air Raid Crash for the win.
After the match, Martinez was confronted by Tian Sha.
The Million Dollar Faceoff
Cameron Grimes finally had his chance to confront The Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase. Grimes said that he didn’t know why Dibiase was doing all of this to him. He idolized Dibiase. The Million Dollar Man said that he was finding the one in a million who could embody his legacy.
Dibiase clarified that it wasn’t all about money and treating people like trash, but also about the abilities inside the ring. He said that he feels Grimes had what it takes but had lost his focus, as LA Knight interrupted them.
Knight said that he could carry on the Million Dollar Man’s Legacy. Dibiase agreed that Knight had the qualities for it. Grimes cut them off and demanded Knight to leave the ring. But Knight took him down, as Dibiase laughed.
Franky Monet def. Cora Jade
Monet (formerly knows as Taya Valkyrie) finally made her in-ring debut on WWE NXT. She pulled Jade’s hair and talked trash. She followed with a running double knee to the back, which left Jade unconscious. But Monet continued to attack with a knee lift and clothesline drop.
But Jade managed to fight back and hit a tilt-a-whirl onto Monet, dropping her headfirst onto the mat. But Monet countered with a spear, followed by a Glam Slam for the win.

The new NXT North American Championship said that he was proud of everything that he had accomplished in his career. But the Championship just proves that the hard work and dedication will make you a Champion. He had a big mountain to climb to win the title, but for his challengers it was going to be colossal!
Legado del Fantasma came down to the ring, as Santos Escobar made it clear that he had his eyes set on the prize. He never scratched hard for the gold; it was always his. He was born to be the top sport. But before LGD could attack Reed, MSK made the save.
Finn Balor def. Karrion Kross
Balor locked Kross in a headlock as the match began. But Kross easily came out of it. But Balor hit a sliding dropkick, which forced Kross to move out of the ring. The duo traded submissions, as Balor locked a modified STF in the middle of the ring.
But Kross just stood up and slammed Balor to the mat. Kross started dominating the match, with a series of clotheslines followed by a suplex. But Balor got his opportunity to come back into the match when Kross missed a lariat and allowed Balor an abdominal stretch, followed by a seated senton.
Kross countered with a toss across the ring. Balor came back hard, taking Kross to the floor with a running kick to the jaw. He followed with a sunset flip to take Kross down, allowing Balor to gather momentum.
Balor punched away at Kross but was caught in a KrossJacket. Kross drove Balor into the plexiglass repeatedly. The action came back to the ring and Kross went for a powerbomb but Balor countered with a DDT. A slingblade followed by a clothesline sent Kross to the floor.
But Kross was not down, as Balor went for a big dive, he dropped Balor with a Blue Thunder Bomb on the table. They were back in the ring again and Balor went for a Coup de Grace, but Kross managed to avoid it and hit a German Suplex followed by a Doomsday Saito.
They traded some blows, and Balor locked in a sleeper hold. But Kross somehow managed to slide out of it too. Balor was quick to transition into a triangle choke and Kross seemed like he had passed out. But he woke up and powerbombed Balor. Kross applied the KrossJacket, as Balor passed out and Kross retained his NXT title.
