Universal Champion Roman Reigns rocks the King’s crown on Smackdown
Universal Champion
Roman Reigns has been the biggest WWE Superstar for over a year now. He has seemed unconquerable since he turned Heel and returned to the company at WWE Summerslam 2020. Reigns has been the Universal Champion for over 400 days, and what makes his reign even more interesting is that he has continued to be a full-time performer.
As the Universal Champion, Reigns has continued to appear regularly on Friday-night Smackdown episodes. Throughout this reign, the Tribal Chief has delivered some memorable feuds against legendary Superstars like John Cena, Edge and Daniel Bryan among others.
While the feud between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar is far from its conclusion, a mini feud kicked off between The Bloodline and The New Day – considering the upcoming Survivor Series event. King Woods, managed to pick up back to back wins against The Usos, angering their cousin, the Universal Champion.
On the latest episode of WWE Smackdown, Woods and Reigns battled in the main event to determine that who really is the King of Smackdown. Reigns walked in confident, claiming that if he fails to get Woods kneel in front of him – Reigns should be stripped off the Universal title and even banished from Smackdown.
After delivering a hard-hitting bout, Woods came close to winning the match, when The Usos interrupted and attacked King Woods. They attacked him with the steel steps and when they were done with him, they took his crown and placed it on their Tribal Chief’s head.
Roman Reigns will next be seen in action against WWE Champion Big E
With The Bloodline taking out Xavier Woods this week, and injuring Kofi Kingston next week – the stage is et for a perfect showdown at WWE Survivor Series – where Universal Champion Roman Reigns will be taking on WWE Champion Big E.
Prior to his match against King Woods, Reigns mentioned that he hoped Big E was watching. We could expect the WWE Champion to show up next week on the Blue brand, at the go-home episode for Survivor Series.
