3 matches that can steal the show at WWE Summerslam 2021

Top 3 show-stealing matches

WWE Summerslam is just a couple of sleeps away and there is no doubt that it is going to be the biggest WWE event of the year. At least the build-up to the show, for the last one month suggests that WWE has a blockbuster of an event in store for us.

The Biggest Party of the Summer” is the reason John Cena made his much-awaited return to WWE and he, along with Universal Champion Roman Reigns also delivered the best promo of the year. But the build-up isn’t restricted to just this feud, it is one of the rare occasions where almost every match on the card has significant heat.

Multiple Superstars have returned and some dream matches have been announced too. The card is packed with 10 matches on the main card and 7 Championships on the line:

Here are the Top 3 matches that could steal the show at WWE Summerslam 2021:

WWE Summerslam 2021: Roman Reigns vs John Cena

Reigns vs Cena for Universal Championship

Two of the biggest Superstars of the company. The main event of “The Biggest Party of the Summer”. The biggest Babyface of the company vs the biggest Heel of Smackdown will be clashing. The whole PPV has been built around this feud.

This blockbuster match not only has the potential, but also has the responsibility of being the biggest match of the event, and probably the match of the year too. Both the Superstars – John Cena and Roman Reigns have immense experience of main-eventing WWE events, hence, fans expect a massive pay-off from one of the best rivalries of the year.

WWE Summerslam 2021: Seth Rollins vs Edge

Rollins and Edge

This was one of the earliest feuds that was announced for Summerslam. Just like Reigns and Cena, both the Superstars in this match – Seth Rollins and Edge, also have massive experience of delivering great performances on major WWE events. But unlike the Universal Championship rivalry – this feud didn’t have enough heat right from the start. Initially, it felt like a match that was just there.

But a series of attacks and some hard-hitting promos have gotten the WWE Universe interested. It is now a feud between two similar Superstars from different generations. This match could easily steal the show – if WWE has planned to conclude this feud at Summerslam itself. Otherwise, we are in for another disqualification end, which would ruin the whole feud.

WWE Summerslam 2021: Drew McIntyre vs Jinder Mahal

McIntyre and Mahal

The Drew McIntyre vs Jinder Mahal can become the best match of the night for a simple advantage that it has over the other feuds. The WWE Universe has probably the least expectations from this match and that could work in its favor!

Both the Superstars – Mahal and McIntyre are powerful performers and have enough expertise on facing each other inside the squared ring. While their feud majorly revolving around McIntyre’s sword is a little offbeat and could lack proper story-telling but from the perspective of the match alone – they could deliver the match of the night.
