WWE Summerslam 2021 is less than a week away and the company has managed to hype up the WWE Universe for virtually every single of the matches on the card. Eight matches, so far, have been announced for the card and six of these are going to have Championships on the line.
One of these title clashes will involve WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defending against former Champion Sasha Banks. Incidentally, Belair had won the title from Banks at Wrestlemania 37 Night One. Since then, Banks had been on a break from WWE. She returned recently to challenge Belair for her title rematch.
Prior to Banks’ return Bianca Belair had been stuck in a repetitive feud with inaugural Women’s Money in the Bank winner – Carmella. Belair had no proper feud going on and the return on Banks seems like a welcome change for the Smackdown women’s division.
But a major surprise was revealed on the latest episode of Smackdown during the contract signing segment between Belair and Banks. A new faction was teased when Zelina Vega and Carmella came out during the segment and attacked Belair. They have sided with Banks.
This teaming up, that too in the penultimate episode of Smackdown before WWE Summerslam 2021 seems like a hint that Sasha Banks will be capturing the title. This will obviously will have something to do with interferences from Vega and Carmella.
Possible challengers for Bianca Belair after WWE Summerslam 2021
Assuming that Vega and Carmella cost Belair the title at “The Biggest Party of the Summer”, it is quite obvious that she will come back after the title. But to reach Banks, Belair will have to go through vicious matches against Vega and Carmella.
But with 3-1 odds stacked up against Bianca Belair, we could see other Superstars come out to help the EST of WWE. The biggest Superstar who could be added to this storyline is The Man Becky Lynch. She could help Belair win the title back. To make matters more interesting, Lynch could eventually turn on her and feud for the title next.
WWE Summerslam 2021 airs live on 21st August.
