WWE Summerslam 2021 is well on course to become the biggest WWE PPV of the year. On one hand, part time Superstars like John Cena and Goldberg have returned for the event. On the other hand full time Superstar like Sasha Banks has also made her return in time to perform at “The Biggest Party of the Summer”.
Sasha Banks, prior to taking a break from WWE, was seen at WWE Wrestlemania 37. She had entered the main event of the Showcase of Immortals as the Smackdown Women’s Champion, but ended up losing the title to Bianca Belair.
Upon her recent return to Smackdown, Banks made it clear that she is after Bianca Belair to retain her title. Banks easily earned the match because of the fact that the losing Superstar has the right to go after their title. Since winning the title, Belair has defended the title on numerous occasions, but that was mostly against Carmella.
Sasha Banks as a challenger for Belair is a welcome change. Considering how one-sided Belair’s title defenses have been, we might see WWE shock us and with Banks winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship once again at WWE Summerslam 2021!
Possible challengers for Sasha Banks after WWE Summerslam 2021
Considering that Sasha Banks becomes the new Smackdown Women’s Championship at Summerslam, the most obvious opponent for her, post the event will be Bianca Belair. In fact, we could even see a long Championship between the two Superstars, similar to the Randy Orton – Drew McIntyre feud from 2020.
Apart from Belair, Zelina Vega is also a probable challenger for the title. Since returning to WWE, Vega has been trying to get to the title. But the only issue of having her as a challenger is the fact that she doesn’t look like a real threat. Vega has been consistently losing and she needs some convincing wins to get into the title picture.
WWE Summerslam 2021 airs live on 21st August.
