Possible feuds for WWE Champion Bobby Lashley after WWE Summerslam 2021

Possible feuds for WWE Champion Bobby Lashley after WWE Summerslam 2021

Bobby Lashley

WWE Summerslam 2021 is just a week away and it is easily going to be one of the biggest events of the year for WWE. The efforts WWE is putting into this event, for making it bigger than Wrestlemania 37, is quite evident from the fact that their biggest Superstar, John Cena, has returned.

Another major Superstar, who often gets the fans divided, Goldberg, has also made his return to the company for the upcoming PPV. While Cena is after the Universal Championship, Goldberg will be going after the WWE Championship. The WWE Universe is quite sure of the current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley of retaining the title, simply because it has become a set template for Goldberg’s matches.

Goldberg returns for really one-off short matches, elevates his opponent and leaves. Unless WWE is planning a major swerve, Bobby Lashley can comfortably focus on the next WWE Championship challenger. There is quite less possibility of Money in the Bank winner Big E cashing in his contract against Lashley, as he is quite vocal about going against Reigns. Additionally, Big E winning the title will send both the top WWE Championships to the Blue brand!

Kross now also performs on WWE Raw

Post the “Biggest Party of the Summer” Lashley will have to search for a new opponent to feud against. Since becoming the WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley’s feuds, barring the one with Drew McIntyre, have been against only the part-time main eventers.

Lashley has been facing The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and his former stablemates Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin. This points out a glaring issue with his reign – it has lacked a proper main-event opponent. But then, the lack of depth is mainly an issue of the roster. The other top Superstars like AJ Styles and Randy Orton are busy with other storylines.

Drew McIntyre is barred from challenging Bobby Lashley for the title anymore. Jinder Mahal is a likely option to stand up against the “All Mighty” Lashley. But the most exciting challenger could by the current NXT Champion Karrion Kross. He is a fairly new addition to the Raw roster and could be involved in a massive rivalry for the WWE Championship.

But for this to happen, he needs to lose the WWE NXT Championship to Samoa Joe. The title will be on the line, a day after WWE Summerslam 2021, at NXT TakeOver. This would allow Kross to focus on the Red brand. In terms of storyline, we could see him trying to dominate the roster, where his unbeatable record was broken.

WWE Summerslam 2021 airs live on 21st August.
