WWE Summerslam 2021 is all set to become the biggest PPV of the year. Usually this distinction goes to Wrestlemania. But WWE wasn’t able to deliver a big scale event due to the Covid-19 restrictions. But now with live audiences back in full strength, WWE is going all out with their efforts.
With the company aiming for an action-packed card, it is obvious to expect that most of the Championships are going to be on the line at the event. One of the Championships that desperately needs an interesting storyline is the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The titles are currently held by Natalya and Tamina. Unfortunately, their reign has been quite uninteresting despite being on the line on numerous occasions. But if they do have to defend it again at Summerslam, we can expect Natalya to be quite confident going into the match due to her experience at the PPV.
Natalya first appeared at Summerslam in 2013, when she defeated Brie Bella in a singles match. In 2016, she picked up another win, when she teamed up with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Bella to defeat Becky Lynch, Carmella and Naomi.
The next year, Natalya had her first Championship bout at Summerslam. She defeated Naomi to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship. In 2019, she entered the match again as a challenger. But this time she failed to capture the Raw Women’s title from Becky Lynch.
Natalya might defend her title at WWE Summerslam 2021

One of the dullest aspects on WWE TV currently is their Women’s Tag Team division. The Champions are not dominant at all, but the challengers in the division too do not look threatening enough. Eva Marie and Doudrop looked like a fresh pairing initially but WWE started breaking them up as soon as they were introduced.
It is quite certain that we will see Natalya and Tamina put their Tag Team titles on the line. But the question is – Who will be their challengers? – the most likely opponents are going to be Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Considering the heat on the other titles, this match will most likely kick-off the event.
Summerslam airs live on 21st August, 2021.
