WWE teases massive Wrestlemania 38 main event
WWE Champion and Universal Champion
Wrestlemania 38 is still a couple of months away, but the WWE Universe is already talking about the 38th edition of the Showcase of Immortals. Often considered to be the biggest night on the WWE calendar, the event was overshadowed by Summerslam last year – owing to the Covid scenario. But this year, the event is already looking all set to reclaim its original spot.
Since the last two years, WWE has been conducting Wrestlemania over two nights – simply because the card is too big to fit into a night. Predictably, with the event taking place over nights, the company needs two massive main events to close both the nights. Considering how massively they have pushed the Universal Champion Roman Reigns – there is never a doubt that he will be main eventing the night.
For every WWE PPV the question is who would be main eventing alongside Roman Reigns. Since nearly for the last six months it is being speculated that he would be facing Brock Lesnar in the main event. While this match looked well set in place – the plans went for a toss after Reigns tested positive for Covid before Day 1 – where Lesnar vs Reigns second match would’ve taken place.
At Day 1 the Beast Incarnate went on to win the WWE Championship – leading to the question, whether the Lesnar vs Reigns plans for Wrestlemania 38 have changed. But on the latest episode of Smackdown, Lesnar clarified that the plans are still the same – but the stakes are higher.
The Beast Incarnate came out on the Blue brand, and challenged Roman Reigns for a Champion vs Champion match at Wrestlemania 38. With two titles involved, the match could go on to a whole new level. Interestingly, the company could decide to crown a Double Champion or unify the titles.
Road to Wrestlemania 38 kicks off at Royal Rumble 2022
WWE Royal Rumble events are often considered to be the event which kicks off the Road to Wrestlemania. So the company has to find a way to get these Superstars interact in some way or the other at the event. Both the Champions are scheduled to have dream feuds at Royal Rumble.
While the WWE Championship will be on the line – with Brock Lesnar going against Bobby Lashley. The Universal Championship will have Roman Reigns defending his title against his former Shield member Seth Rollins. The Monday Night Messiah is a part of the Red brand, but will challenge a Blue brand Champion, simply because Reigns has gone through the entire Smackdown roster.
