“Who else is gonna be there?” Kofi Kingston reacts to the opening of ‘Forbidden Door’

Former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston reacts to the “Forbidden Door” being opened by WWE.

Kofi Kingston is a Ghanaian – American professional wrestler who is considered to be one of the best hugh-flying Superstars on the WWE roster. He signed a WWE developmental contract way back in 2006 and debited for the company in 2008. While he was initially presented as a Jamaican Superstar, Kingston soon dropped the gimmick and was billed from his home country Ghana.

In the early years of his career, Kingston won the Intercontinental Championship four times and the United States Championship thrice. But his career took off after he formed the New Day Tag Team with Big E and Xavier Woods. While his Tag Team run was flourishing, the highlight of his singles run came in 2019 – when he became the WWE Champion.

But if there is one thing that Kofi Kingston is popular for, its his Royal Rumble appearances – where he has always found unique ways for preventing elimination. There is no doubt that Kingston himself would consider Rumble to be one of his favorite events. WWE recently opened the “Forbidden Door” when they announced Impact Wrestling’s Mickie James’ appearance in Royal Rumble.

Kingston recently appeared on Bleav in Pro Wrestling where he discussed the opening of the “forbidden door”. “It’s so Mickie. You know what I mean? I love it. You know, Mickie to me has been like an older sister throughout my entire career. So I’m really excited just to see her, just so we can b.s. a little bit and go back and forth. But I was real happy when I heard that and I think a lot of the fans were happy too because now the intrigue is there, right? Like, what other doors are we gonna open? Who else is gonna be there?” – mentioned Kofi Kingston.

Kofi Kingston’s World Championship reign

The New Day

At Wrestlemania 35, Kofi Kingston pinned Daniel Bryan to become the WWE Champion. This made him the only-African born Champion in the history of the company. Throughout his reign as the Champion, Kingston successfully defended the title against the likes of Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe among others.

But his reign as the WWE Champion came to a screeching halt when he was pinned by Brock Lesnar in 8 seconds, ending his 180-day reign. Post this, Kingston never really returned to the main event scene. His former Tag team partner, Big E, recently experienced something similar, and that too at the hands of the Beast Incarnate.
