While Cody Rhodes is expected to win at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns walking out victorious wouldn't be surprising to see.

With WrestleMania 40 less than a week away, fans are excited for the main events of the weekend. The buildup has been centered around Cody Rhodes‘ story and his quest to end The Bloodline’s domination once and for all. Following last year’s loss, many are under the assumption that he will indeed “finish the story.” However, it might not be a good idea to end Roman Reigns‘ dominant reign just yet.
The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion recently revealed that he’s still far from retiring from the business. Further, The Rock‘s addition to The Bloodline saga has added more depth to the intriguing storyline. For years, the entire faction has been built around Reigns’ championship run. Judging by the number of appearances he’s been making, The Brahma Bull might be staying for the long run.
The inevitable Roman Reigns vs. The Rock bout will be to determine who the Head of the Table truly is. Without the championship, the stakes wouldn’t be as high as possible. In addition to that, Reigns beating Hulk Hogan‘s record to become the longest reigning champion of the WrestleMania era would be fitting to see. After all, some might say that he deserves it given that it is this title run that has catapulted WWE to never-seen-before heights.
Despite Cody Rhodes being the odds-on favorite to win, one shouldn’t be surprised if Reigns ends up replicating last year’s result. Needless to say, fans will have to wait and see whether The Tribal Chief continues his reign at the top or not.
Possible opponents for Roman Reigns after WrestleMania
Irrespective of the outcome on Sunday, Roman Reigns has a whole lot of feuds lying in wait. The obvious choice is the much-awaited match against The Rock. However, that bout will most likely take place at next year’s WrestleMania. Until then, Reigns can use his part-time schedule and compete at big events such as SummerSlam or the Saudi PLE.
The first name that comes to fans’ minds is CM Punk. Over the past week, the pair has exchanged jabs at each other. Once The Second City Saint heals from his triceps injury, it wouldn’t be the worst idea for him to go after The Tribal Chief. Given the history between the two, including Paul Heyman and the creation of The Shield, fans would be in for a heated rivalry.
On the other hand, for an instant feud, Reigns can look no further than his former teammate, Seth Rollins. Two years ago, The Visionary defeated The Tribal Chief at the Royal Rumble, elongating the story of the former’s inability to put away Rollins when it mattered the most. Therefore, a revisit to their past would also be interesting to see.
