Match Rankings: WWE Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match

Money in the Bank Ladder matches are, inarguably, one of the most exciting stipulations. Several WWE Superstars participate in the ladder matches to win a contract to challenge for any WWE Championship of their liking. As the Women’s decision strengthened, WWE decided to organise the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match.

So far, only 5 such matches have taken place. We have ranked them based on their pacing, execution and the winners. Here is our Match rankings for the WWE Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match:  

#5 SmackDown Live (2017): Winner – Carmella

This was the first-time that the WWE Universe got to see a Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. But it had a controversial ending as James Ellsworth had to interfere in the match to help Carmella in winning the match. This led to a controversy and ultimately resulted in a rematch at WWE Money in the Bank PPV.

#4 Money In The Bank ’17: Winner – Carmella

The first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was marred with controversy. The fact that James Ellsworth had to help Carmella win the briefcase sent the message that the woman needed the help of a man in such matches. It led to this match at the PPV, where Carmella won without any interference.

#3 Money In The Bank ’19: Winner – Bayley

The third year featuring the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was a fun affair but had one issue. The WWE Superstars who had experience of participating in the ladder matches like – Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks were all missing from this match. Instead the WWE Universe got to see new faces like Nikki Cross and Mandy Rose, who’ve now become main roster regulars.

#2 Money In The Bank ’20: Winner – Asuka

The 2020 Money in the Bank was quite unique due to the pandemic outbreak. WWE moved away from the traditional ladder matches for this PPV. Instead, the matches took place at WWE Headquarters and both, the men’s and women’s matches took place simultaneously. The briefcase hung above a ring, placed on the terrace of the WWE HQ.

Asuka emerged victorious in the match and was handed the Raw Women’s Champion as the then Champion, Becky Lynch, took a maternity leave.  

#1 Money In The Bank ’18: Winner – Alexa Bliss

The best Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match came in 2013. The match benefitted a lot from the fact that Superstars from both the main roster brands competed in the match. The pacing and the execution of the match was completely top class and the winner too was appreciated by the fans. Alexa Bliss defeated Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Lana, Natalya, Naomi and Ember Moon.
