WWE’s plans for Roman Reigns and Gunther’s title drops were reportedly revealed
Gunther and Roman Reigns
Fans expect 2023 to be a banger for WWE. The company gave a trailer for the upcoming year, which is sure to be one of the best in the company’s history, with an engaging last SmackDown of 2022. A lot of rumors have started to pop out of the current scenario regarding the change of titles, which are currently in the possession of Roman Reigns and Gunther.
While Roman Reigns’ fans are on cloud nine with their champ being the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, other fans are pissed off with the fact that the company is allowing him to hold the title for such a long period of time. Both the main roster titles, the WWE Universal Championship and the WWE Heavyweight Championship, are currently in the possession of the Tribal Chief.
The WWE management appears to have listened to the demands of the fans. If the reports from Xero News are to be believed, then Roman Reigns will face The Rock at WrestleMania for both titles. With massive pressure from the fans, the authorities might consider dropping the titles for The Rock.
With his first appearance in a long time, WWE wouldn’t want the Rock to lose the match. However, from an authority standpoint, the plans to drop the titles to the Rock aren’t feasible for the company. The Rock isn’t a regular in-ring performer. Handing over the titles to him would mean that the Hollywood star would have to take a break from his Hollywood projects. Whatever the result may be, the match is sure to be breathtaking for all.

Gunther may drop his InterContinental title before Roman Reigns
The current WWE Intercontinental Champion, Gunther, has proven himself to be a worthy contender for the championship. However, the company might consider taking the title away from him. Xero News revealed that Gunther would drop the titles to Braun Strowman two weeks from now when they meet for a championship opportunity.
However, a majority of the WWE Universe wants ‘The Ring General’ to retain the title. If he succeeds in doing so, then he will certainly drop the title at the Elimination Chamber. The fans are clearly not happy with the champions retaining their titles on every occasion. With an increasing demand for the title change, WWE might consider giving the fans what they want.
In the last episode of SmackDown, Gunther and Braun Strowman stood face to face before their upcoming title match. The two men started brawling, and other members of the Imperium also jumped in to attack Braun. Eventually, the number game caught up to Strowman, and he was being brutalized by Imperial before Ricochet came running to save Strowman. As Ricochet sent everyone away from the ring as he swung the steel chair, it hit Gunther right on his head. Though unintentional, Gunther was genuinely hit by it and had to be assisted by the medical team.
