On the eve of Father’s Day, legendary NFL quarterback and New England Patriots Ring of Honor member Tom Brady posted a heartfelt message for his father, Thomas Brady Sr., and all fathers around the world. Now retired, Brady is mostly spending time with his kids whenever he has some free time.

Brady has three children with two different partners. John Jack Edward Thomas, or just Jack (17), is Brady’s firstborn, whom he had with actress Bridget Moynahan. He also shares two kids, Benjamin Rein ‘Ben’ (15) and Vivian Lake (12), with Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

Brady wrote a Father’s Day message on Instagram addressed to his dad. The 47-year-old often becomes emotional while recalling Brady Sr.’s contributions to his life.

Happy Father’s Day to my dad, who taught me everything about what it means to be a father. And to all the dads out there who are great role models to their kids. My dad has always been my biggest supporter, my best friend, and my number one teacher not just in sports but in life.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner highlighted the qualities he was taught, and now Brady is teaching his kids the same.

The values he passed on to our family—hard work, integrity, compassion, and unconditional love—shaped me in every way. Each day I try to live up to the example he set: to be present and to make sure my kids know how much I love and care [about them].

Despite spending a chunk of his life throwing passes and breaking the hearts of other NFL teams, Brady found time to take care of his children the same way his father did back in California.

Tom Brady once stated that he’s not a good father like his dad

Brady was a champion on the field, and it’s easy to picture him having a similar success in his personal life, too. For a while, he was on top of the world, winning Lombardis and embracing his star wife and yet down-to-earth mother to their children.

Everything appeared perfect until it wasn’t. Brady and Bundchen split because she had reached her limit of caring for the house and the family while her husband played ball. She found love elsewhere and moved on in 2022.

Bundchen and Brady agreed to co-parent their kids, but raising teenage kids is not a walk in the park.

In episode 10 of the ESPN+ series Man in the Arena: Tom Brady, the former Buccaneers quarterback teared up while reflecting upon his role as a father.

When I think about being a dad, I think about him because of what my dad meant to me, and I know I’m not as good a dad to my kids that my dad’s been to me. And I use them as my example as to how to keep a family together and to care and to support and to love.

Brady is leading a content-filled life following his retirement from football in 2023. Not so long ago, he went backpacking to Europe with his kids. They visited France, Germany, and the Netherlands, spending quality time together.

2024 was eventful for Brady. He took his first steps into broadcasting with FOX Sports, with whom he is under contract for the next nine years. The second year of his new career will bring more challenges, as he navigates between covering NFL games and guiding the Las Vegas Raiders as both an owner and a mentor. He must make sure that they don’t overlap with one another.
