- Shedeur Sanders graduated with a degree in sociology from the University of Colorado.
- He made a viral joke about his father wearing a mask at his sister's graduation ceremony.
- The Sanders family celebrated together despite past tensions between Deion and Pilar.
Earlier this month, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders returned to Boulder, where he collected his degree in sociology from the University of Colorado. Just about a few days ago, Shelomi Sanders joined her brother as a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies Concentration in Sports Management, from Alabama A&M University.
The Sanders family was a full quorum for the event, with Deion Sanders joined by ex-wife Pilar and their three kids, Shedeur, Shelomi, and Shilo Sanders. The pair had split many moons ago in 2013 after a drawn-out legal battle, which saw the boys placed in sole conservatorship of Deion and joint conservatorship for Shelomi. Though they have come together for several events, there’s a distance between the two, and Shedeur attempted to brighten the mood.
His attempt didn’t work in bringing the two together, but it has made for a viral moment online. The Browns’ signal-caller took a jab at his father for wearing a mask for the ceremony.
He put on a mask so they don’t see that he smile cause my mamma here.
Shedeur Sanders joked
🔥 Shedeur & Coach Prime Reunited. Mom & Dad Together Again 😭

After the graduation ceremony, Shedeur took another lighthearted jab, trolling Coach Prime for missing his graduation while attending Shelomi’s.
At the end of the day, FAMILY… This is what family’s about. We can share one elevator now.
Shedeur Sanders was heard saying in another video
Shedeur Sanders couldn’t stop TROLLING his Dad Coach Prime and confronted him about missing his graduation while at his sister Shelomi’s graduation 🤣❤️

The 24-year-old didn’t forget to congratulate Shelomi either. His congratulations were not just for her graduation but also for bringing all of them together. Both Shelomi and Shilo reacted to the post, dropping laughing emojis in the comment box.
Shelomi also had some fun trolling her parents while taking credit for bringing them together. She posted a story with the caption, “Look how close I brought them,” and tagged the parents. Deion Sanders even reposted the story with a hashtag galore, “familyreunion,” “doitforthekids,” “sanders,” “together,” and “imthekid.”
Shedeur Sanders’ trip a respite from mounting frustration in Ohio
Things aren’t going very well in Cleveland. It’s another offseason, and the Browns have a fresh new quarterback drama. The quarterback room is once again quite packed, with Shedeur Sanders facing controversial Deshaun Watson for the starting job.

ESPN analyst Tony Grossi recently took apart the scenes unfolding in the rock and roll capital and expressed his support for the 24-year-old Colorado alum.
Put yourself in his shoes. Finished the year as the starting quarterback. Won his last two games. Now, there’s the Deshaun Watson challenge put in front of him, and a mounting momentum that Watson is the preferred guy.
Tony Grossi said
He also questioned the Browns’ motives for drafting another quarterback in the NFL Draft 2026. The Browns drafted Taylen Green, a former Boise State and Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback, in the sixth round as the 182nd pick.
Then, they draft Taylen Green. If you’re Shedeur, you’re wondering, ‘Man, when are they going to commit to me?’ It’s got to be frustrating for him, but this is a different year than last year. Everybody has to earn their spot.
Grossi added about the growing pains of Shedeur Sanders
In 2025, Sanders started seven games for the Browns, winning three games. He posted 1400 yards and seven touchdowns with a completion rate of 56.6. However, he also threw ten interceptions, a major point of criticism for Sanders. Apart from Grossi, several other NFL sportscasters and journalists have called out the Browns in recent days for their uncertain quarterback room.
