- George Kittle defended Travis Kelce after he faced criticism for chugging a beer at an NBA game.
- Analyst Tony Farmer called Kelce's behavior unbecoming of a role model for younger fans.
- Kittle emphasized that enjoying a beer at a game is acceptable and part of the fun.
George Kittle and Travis Kelce have several things in common. Both are world-class NFL athletes, founding members of the Tight End University, and possess an undying love for beer. So, when Kelce received backlash for shotgunning a beer can, Kittle promptly defended his friend.
On Saturday, Kelce showed up at the Cavaliers-Knicks game in Cleveland with his fiancee, Taylor Swift. While sitting courtside, Kelce picked up a can of beer and chugged it down in one go, much to the delight of the crowd inside the Rocket Arena.
Tony Farmer, a popular San Francisco 49ers analyst, claimed Kelce’s actions are unbecoming of a role model whom the younger generation looks up to.
Travis Kelce looking and acting like a teenager who just discovered alcohol is the farthest thing from a role model I can imagine.
Farmer tweeted
Kittle, as one of the captains of the 49ers, might have crossed paths with Farmer before. After noticing his dig, the All-Pro athlete requested Farmer to show some linearity.
Tony you gotta chill out man. Maybe have fun? Idk.

For football conspiracy theorists, Tony Farmer’s name will sound familiar. Lately, he has been piling pressure on mainstream media to bring out the truth behind the Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini scandal. Seeing as he had caught Kittle’s attention, Farmer squeezed in Vrabel and Russini in their conversation.
I’ll never call anyone out for chugging beers or call it immature as long as I live if I can get an honest 2 sentence reaction from you on the Dianna Russini situation. You’ve called her reporting out before, I have to assume you have opinions?
Kittle reacted,
What in the world do those two things have to do with each other?…what planet are you on Tony. Trav [Kelce] is at his team’s [Cavaliers] playoff game and getting the crowd hype. They sell beer at stadiums. Bud Light is an NFL sponsor. It’s ok to have a good time responsibly.

Kittle’s guess is incorrect. Kelce did not drink from a can of Bud Light; in fact, he gulped down Garage Beer, a company that he partly owns with his brother Jason Kelce.
George Kittle and Travis Kelce provided a massive update on Tight End University
Kittle, Kelce, and former TE Greg Olsen teamed up to create Tight End University, or TEU, back in 2021. Since then, tight ends across the league gather in one place in the offseason to do on-field drills, film study, and other team-building activities.

The 2026 TEU camp is scheduled to commence on June 22 in Nashville, Tennessee, and will end on June 25. On the second day of the event, Tuesday, June 23, they are hosting a concert titled “Tight Ends and Friends” powered by Reese’s at 8:00 p.m. CT. They have yet to decide who will perform at the concert.
Tight Ends and Friends is everything TEU stands for: the brotherhood, the celebration, the fans, and the moments that nobody sees coming. What we built last year in Nashville was something truly special, and this summer we are taking it to another level entirely.
Greg Olsen said in a statement
George Kittle revealed a secret about Taylor Swift
In 2025, TEU welcomed Swift as its celebrity special guest. She even picked up a guitar and performed “Shake It Off.” Kittle, later on, “Bussin With the Boys” joked that his mother-in-law “bullied” Swift into doing it.
The only reason that [Taylor Swift] sang was because my mom and Claire’s [Kittle’s wife] mom were like, ‘You should totally sing,’ and, like, kind of bullied her into doing it. No one bullies Taylor Swift—I’m kidding. But then, because Taylor did it, we got Luke Combs to do it.
George Kittle said. (H/T People)
Swift and Kelce have been dating since 2023 and got engaged last year. They are poised to get married in July 2026.
