Last week marked one of the darkest chapters in NASCAR history, as two times championship winning NASCAR Cup driver Kyle Busch passed away at the age of 41 due to severe pneumonia and sepsis. The whole community shared their tribute, by standing with the Busch family ahead of the Coca Cola 600 in a special event.
For 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick, who the veteran replaced at Richard Childress Racing in 2023, it was a day that was hard on his soul. Talking to The People, the veteran admitted that it was really tough for him learn about the passing and witnessing the challenging the moment the family is going through after the death.
Sunday was a hard day on the soul. I got to know him as a competitor, and then I got to know him as Kyle — the father and the husband as well. It was just really tough.
Tyler Reddick said about Kyle Busch.
He highlighted how Kyle Busch impacted the life of many on and off the track in NASCAR. Tyler Reddick’s 23XI Racing teammate Bubba Wallace and 14 other drivers in the Cup garage at the moment raced for the legend once in their career. It shows the massive impact the 234 times NASCAR race winner has on the sport over the last two decades.
There’s so many people in the garage that worked with him for a weekend or worked with him for a couple races or worked with him for a year or even worked with him for decades… Obviously we all knew his talents on the racetrack, but he also impacted obviously a lot of fans’ lives along with a lot of us in the industry. It’s just a huge loss for everyone.

Further talking about the point, the star driver pointed out that he is hoping that the family of the ex-RCR driver learned that the whole NASCAR community is behind them during the tough times. He is amplifying the words of Chase Elliott; the whole garage is a phone call away for the Busch’s.
I hope his family was able to take away from the weekend that, you know, if there’s ever any doubt in their minds about the support that they had, that they can hopefully move forward knowing that the entire garage is behind them and is there to support them.
Tyler Reddick asserted.
Tyler Reddick hopes Kyle Busch’s family can move on from the tragedy
In the same conversation later, the two times second division champion shared his hope that Samatha Busch, Brexton, Lennix, Kurt Busch and rest of the family would be able to move on. The 23XI driver also admitted that he is feeling the emotional weight that is on the family after the loss.

I just hope that [Busch’s family] is able to move forward knowing that there’s so many people in our industry that are there for them if they ever need it…That weighs on me the most, you know, about just him being gone. You know, him and his kids and his wife. That’s just an incredibly tough thing for his family.
Tyler Reddick said.
The comments from the veteran racer are on point and shows how the whole community is behind the Busch family in the difficult time. It would be interesting to see how the community is going to continue paying their tribute to the late legend.
