It has not been many days since one of the biggest sports festivals kicked off in North America, but Jameis Winston has quickly become a popular celebrity fan. Winston, who has been stadium-hopping during the FIFA World Cup 2026, had a special guest with him for the Argentina vs. Algeria game: an actual goat milling around with him in the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City.

Lionel Messi is one of the most decorated footballers in the world with numerous titles and honors to his name. Along with Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal, he’s one of the athletes who’s called, “Greatest of All Time,” shortened to G.O.A.T. Though not a new scene in an Argentina or any game featuring Messi, Winston brought a life-sized goat to celebrate Messi’s status as one of the best footballers in the world.

He had the goat draped in Messi’s Argentina first kit as well. He made the onlookers kiss the goat, calling that kissing the goat is like kissing the football sensation. And cherry on top, Messi was in his best form, obliterating the Algerian defense to record his first World Cup hat trick.

Earlier, Winston drew headlines when he joined the Japanese fans to clean up the AT&T Stadium after the Asian nation’s tournament opener against the Netherlands. The Japanese fans have been known to stay behind after games and tidy up the spaces they used as a symbol of respect, a tradition first spotlighted in the Samurai Blue’s first World Cup appearance in 1998.

The former Heisman winner and a first-round pick has picked up some amazing experiences as the FOX News World Cup correspondent. He also rode the Dutch fans’ Oranje bus before the Netherlands vs. Japan game, as well as joined content creator and streamer iShowSpeed during Team USA’s win against Paraguay.

Lionel Messi’s first World Cup hat-trick powers Argentina to a soaring win

The Albiceleste took three points in their first game against the Algerians, thanks to three unanswered goals from the 38-year-old Lionel Messi. Messi, who started the game with 13 goals in World Cup history, tied Miroslav Klose for the most goals in the men’s World Cup.

He started the goal riot with a bonkers strike from range in the 17th minute. In the 60th minute, Messi took advantage of the rebound, tapping in a parried shot from Alexis Mac Allister into the hands of Luca Zidane, son of former French national captain Zinedine Zidane, who made a brilliant save before Messi’s quick rebound.

After a strong appetizer and a well-delivered main course, Messi scored an incredible curler from outside the box as the sweet finish to record the tournament’s first hat-trick. Earlier in the first half, there was a goal by Messi that was disallowed for an offside. The opponents also had one goal denied, an Ibrahim Maza shot past Emiliano Martinez, playing in on a pass from Farès Chaïbi.

Apart from Jameis Winston, Patrick Mahomes was also present to watch the Albiceleste take on the Fennecs with his wife, Brittany Mahomes.

In the second fixture of Group J, Austria defeated debutants Jordan 3-1 to secure three points. Romano Schmid and Marko Arnautović scored for Austria, while Yazan Al-Arab scored an own goal. Ali Olwan scored Jordan’s first-ever World Cup goal. Argentina will return to action against Austria, and Algeria will face Jordan.
