WWE Legend on What Has to Go Different With The Bloodline Reboot in 2026

Matt Hardy has offered his two cents on WWE rehashing the Bloodline lore just too early after its previous installment ending at the start of 2025.

WWE has resorted to reheating the Bloodline lore after experiencing a palpable slump in its boom period. With Roman Reigns back on top as the company’s World Heavyweight Champion, he has fortified himself with not only The Usos but also a certain ‘Samoan Werewolf’ in Jacob Fatu this time around.

‘The OTC’ officially let Fatu in his Bloodline on last week’s Raw by bestowing the Ula Fala upon him. It’s apparent that Reigns has understood the goldmine he has in Fatu. However, the latter’s stern reluctance to take orders from The Usos has the twins dissatisfied.

It’ll be interesting to see how Reigns will be able to maintain peace within his own Bloodline. Thus far, the majority of the audience isn’t extremely high on WWE rebooting the Bloodline saga this early after its previous iteration ending with Reigns taking the Ula Fala back from Solo Sikoa in January 2025.

Even Matt Hardy thinks it’s too soon to recycle the Bloodline saga, which ran its course for almost four years. Speaking on his Extreme Life podcast, the ‘Sensei of Mattitude’ added that if WWE is indeed hellbent on doing a sequel to the Bloodline drama this early, it has to have a new coat of paint.

If they’re turning this into a continuation of the story, it has to look different. It has to come at you from a different perspective. It can’t be retread. You can’t have something for four years and take a little time off, then retread it again. It has to come at you from a different angle, from a different perspective, and there has to be different motivation for all involved.

Hardy stressed the need for adding a new spin to everything, including the characters and the overall plot of this renewed chapter. The current TNA star warned against simply doing the same beats again, as it’ll backfire on WWE. Hardy wants the characters involved in this story to have different motivations than before. At the moment, Reigns is trying to court Sikoa back into his family.

Fatu has approached the MFT leader twice in recent weeks with Roman Reigns‘ offer for Solo Sikoa. The latter, however, has firmly turned it down and even issued warning shots to ‘The Tribal Chief’ about messing with his family if he didn’t stop doing the same with Sikoa’s MFT brothers.

This past week on SmackDown, Sikoa inadvertently cost Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga the tag team titles match against R-Truth and Damian Priest. The Tongans had already asked their leader to not accompany them to ringside for their match. Sikoa, for some reason, did pop up during the closing moments, distracting both Tama and Talla.

It resulted in Truth rolling up Tama Tonga for the win. Before their match, the MFTs had made it clear that Sikoa’s family issues had started to get to them and they wanted nothing to do with Reigns’ Bloodline. And with Sikoa’s uncalled-for interference robbing the MFTs a chance to put the tag team gold around their waist, it could lead to the MFTs turning on Sikoa in the near future.

WWE not slowing down on The Bloodline lore anytime soon

The decision to rehash the Bloodline saga has evoked polarizing reactions from the wrestling fans. While some aren’t remotely interested in seeing the same faces interacting with one another with minor tweaks in the general plot, others are willing to give it a shot before arriving at a judgment. However, the latter seems to fall in the minority.

Regardless of how the internet reacts to it, WWE is reportedly not going to pump the brakes on the Bloodline anytime soon, as per TRNBCKL. Moreover, it’s also being reported that Roman Reigns’ run as the world champion isn’t going to end just yet, which rules out the possibility of him dropping the title at SummerSlam.

The outlet claimed that the company is thoroughly satisfied with the turn of events in the Bloodline saga since WrestleMania. Those in the company believe that Jacob Fatu’s integration has imbued fresh life into the storyline. Furthermore, WWE is being said to have maintained interest in bringing Zilla Fatu on board. Even though his arrival doesn’t seem imminent, it’s something to keep an eye on for the future.
