Why Josh Allen Believes DJ Moore Is the Missing Piece in Buffalo’s Passing Game
Josh Allen is confident that WR DJ Moore will be a hit for the Bills and help them make a deep playoff run.

Josh Allen’s first season after signing a massive $250 million guaranteed contract with the Buffalo Bills didn’t go according to plan. It was a down year for Allen.
A year earlier, he was the league MVP and making strides to gain some ground on Patrick Mahomes. With Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow missing the playoffs, Allen remained the favorite to secure a first ring.
However, the Bills failed to win the AFC East after five consecutive first-place finishes and were later knocked out in the divisional round by the Denver Broncos.
Allen watched another Super Bowl from his home. Seattle defeated New England, continuing the NFC dominance in the final.
The Bills fired Sean McDermott and made offensive coordinator Joe Brady the new head coach. Brady and general manager Brandon Beane pulled off a big summer trade by acquiring wide receiver DJ Moore.
Allen hasn’t had a true WR1 since Stefon Diggs signed with the Houston Texans. The star quarterback is excited to start a new era of Bills dominance alongside Moore.
I think what [DJ Moore’s] gonna bring to [the Bills], obviously veteran leadership, he’s been in the league as long as I’ve been in the league and he’s produced at such a high level for the last eight years. Just really getting to know him, we’re locker mates, and to have that relationship that we already have, it’s a pretty seamless fit. I’m excited to continue to get to work with him. He’s going to be a huge help for us this next season and seasons to come.

Moore and Allen were drafted seventeen places apart in 2018. Allen went to Buffalo while Moore settled in Carolina with the Panthers. A spell with the Chicago Bears followed. In 2023, Moore caught 96 passes for 1364 yards and scored 8 touchdowns, his best return yet. Allen is arguably the best quarterback Moore has had in his NFL career, and it’s an exciting time for the Bills Mafia.
Former Bills center made a bold prediction about Josh Allen’s future
No one can overlook Josh Allen’s impact on the Bills. Before breaking into the team, the Bills experienced a staggering 17-year playoff drought. Now, it’s impossible to think that the Bills won’t be in the mix for the Super Bowl.

Mitch Morse, who represented both the Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs, believes that Allen will win a ring before Mahomes finds his feet once again.
[Patrick’s] going to win more Super Bowls. But I feel it’s Josh Allen’s time. The Holy Spirit told me in my dreams that this is what’s supposed to happen.

Mahomes and Allen share a 5-5 record. Allen is 5-1 in the regular season, but Mahomes has a clean 4-0 record in the playoffs. Former NFL safety Jahleel Addae sees Mahomes continue his winning streak.
Josh Allen may win the battle, but Patrick Mahomes wins the war. And until you dethrone the champion, the guy who has done it at the highest rate… I love Josh Allen, I love everything he brings to the game… But Patrick Mahomes is the man. He has done it, he’s been there, he has derailed Josh Allen over and over… When time calls for it, I gotta Patrick Mahomes.

Allen has a tough road ahead of him. He and the Bills are set to play the eighth-toughest schedule in 2026. The combined win record of their opponents from last season is 152-136-1, or 0.528.
