Warriors’ Interest in LeBron James, Steph Curry, Anthony Davis & Draymond Green Superteam Baffles Fans – “Most Delusional Franchise”
The Golden State Warriors were considered to have an outside chance to sign LeBron James ever since free agency started.

Of all the teams LeBron James has been linked to, the one making the least noise has been the team Stephen Curry and Draymond Green play for.
The Golden State Warriors have a lot of free agency decisions to make, as the team was not deemed good enough to make it to the playoffs last season.
One of the reasons for that is their continuing tryst with injuries. Not only did they have the usual shenanigans with their oldest players, but even mid-season trade acquisition Kristaps Porzingis struggled.
The franchise clearly wants to keep squeezing the best out of the final few years of their leading veteran core, and that is why Steve Kerr decided to return.
Now, the franchise hopes that long rest and careful management can help the team take the next step. They even drafted a couple of young players with the hope that they would help the old guard. But the latest news out of the Bay Area surprised quite a few.
The pitch would be simple: reunite with AD, team up with Steph Curry and Draymond Green, play for Steve Kerr, and chase one more championship with a roster of legends.
Yahoo Sports’ Kevin O’Conner revealed
The journalist came to this conclusion when he received news from sources that the Warriors are looking to trade for Anthony Davis. To do that, they would have to send Jimmy Butler and his expiring $56.8 million contract.
Sources: The Warriors want both LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Then, the hope is that the collective draw from Davis, Stephen Curry, and Draymond Green would be enough to tempt LeBron James into signing with them.
Fans flame Warriors for audacious LeBron James vision
The idea of continuing to rely on Stephen Curry and Draymond Green was already considered a far-fetched idea. The latter may have proved that he still is one of the better defenders in the league, but his teammate has struggled with his health.
Then, for them to think about trading for Anthony Davis, and believe it would be enough to land LeBron James on a veteran minimum, sent fans shaking their heads.
They questioned whether the franchise had any clue as to how this team would fare, considering Davis has struggled to stay healthy for most of the past three years. Fans felt the Warriors were delusional and left similar reactions on social media, examples of which are below.
warriors take the cake from lakers from being the most delusional franchise

Why not bring back Rick Barry while you’re at it? They’re interested in an old timers team, certainly not a title contender.

I hope they do it. That said, they're winning nothing.

In theory, this superteam would be a handful for any team in the league. But that can only stay true as long as they are healthy. Since two have proved that to be a concern, it might be a long stretch to think this plan will work.
LeBron James’ options widen as Lakers prioritize others
The primary reason such rumors are running about is that the Los Angeles Lakers have made it clear, through their actions, that they will think about LeBron James when they finish working out the rest of the team.

Signing Austin Reaves has been completed, and now the top brass are looking to ink some key rotational pieces before they get offers from other teams.
With news that they have not had any communication with the King, many believe that is because he is drawing interest from other organizations.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are at the top of the list, and so are the Miami Heat, especially after the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade. Other than that, there are rumblings that the San Antonio Spurs could surprise everyone. Now, with the Warriors supposedly in the mix, it seems James will have options.
