Brandon Aiyuk’s quest to leave the San Francisco 49ers takes a dramatic turn. Aiyuk is now taking shots at Jayden Daniels, his get out of jail free card.

While the US celebrated the 4th of July, Aiyuk posted his latest video. Unlike the previous clips, which were aimed at the 49ers, Aiyuk addressed Daniels in this video.

You’re on my team now. You have to follow my rules. … You’re gonna have to stop running behind your momma, and I might believe what you’re talking about.

Daniels and his mother (Regina Jackson) being in Aiyuk’s crosshairs changes the scenario. It’s as if he will take potshots at anyone who stands between him and a move to the Washington Commanders. What is the endgame here? If his wish comes true, he and Daniels will be teammates. So, it’s baffling to see him trying to rile up Daniels.

Aiyuk’s popularity is slowly plummeting. It will not be long before he hits rock bottom.

Then there’s Daniels’ mom. Miss Jackson is a no-nonsense individual. She’s very protective and particular about her son’s professional and personal life. She doesn’t even let the former LSU star date, and what makes Aiyuk think she will allow Jayden to hang out with him? Now, it’s a waiting game.

Why did Brandon Aiyuk suddenly make Jayden Daniels his target?

The exact reason behind Aiyuk’s actions is unclear. However, an X/Twitter clip could be the root cause.

Popular 49ers content creator “Coach Yac” shared a clip of a fan telling Daniels to steer clear of Aiyuk.

Jayden Daniels! [expletive] Brandon Aiyuk! [expletive] Brandon Aiyuk. You better not throw [expletive] to him next year. [expletive] Brandon Aiyuk!

Per Coach, the fan is a 49ers sympathizer. It only proves that Aiyuk is no longer welcome in San Francisco. Daniels tries his best to laugh off the awkward exchange.

Aiyuk met Daniels during his final year of college at Arizona State. Together, they led the Sun Devils to an 8-4 record. Aiyuk caught 65 passes for 1,192 yards and scored 8 touchdowns (career-best college numbers). So, his motivation to team up with JD once again makes sense.

The Commanders drafted Daniels second overall in 2024. Aiyuk has been trying to join the capital franchise ever since. He accepted a four-year extension from the 49ers. However, seven games into his new deal, he suffered a season-ending ACL tear. Instead of rehabbing at the facility, he opted to do it privately. Aiyuk went AWOL and did not report back.

Aiyuk believes the 49ers are holding him hostage

The 49ers took action against Aiyuk by voiding the guarantees on his remaining contract, essentially opting out of paying him anything more than they already have. Aiyuk ripped the organization for pulling this move.

You want to know why they really mad, though? They mad ’cause they stupid, they dumb. They mad that they paid me $50 million in eight months and then voided my guarantees for 2027. And I’m about to be on a new team in 2027. They mad at themselves for real. They acting like they mad at me, but they stupid [expletive] mad at themselves.

Aiyuk said in an earlier video

Aiyuk doubled down on his take, calling his situation modern-day slavery.

I haven’t received a single cent from them in 17 months. Folks tryna hold me captive lol. Then my guarantees [were] voided in July of 2025. This [expletive] is modern-day [chains emoji].

Aiyuk explained

The Niners drafted Aiyuk 25th overall in 2020. In 69 games, he has caught 294 passes for 4305 yards and scored 25 touchdowns.
