Seth Rollins is gunning to become a 7-time world champion in WWE. For that, he will have to take down Roman Reigns at SummerSlam next month. The match was made official after these former Shield brothers met on Raw after Night of Champions. ‘The Visionary’ emphasized how he has owned Reigns since the day he put a steel chair on his back to end the Shield.

Rollins also said that ‘The OTC’ owed him for everything he has accomplished in his WWE career. The fact that the Anoa’i family stalwart was unable to beat Rollins during his nearly 4-year-long world title reign laid the foundation for the Bloodline leader accepting his former ally’s latest challenge.

Seth Rollins recently shared on the Rich Eisen Show what he finds “pretty wild” about himself and Roman Reigns. The former ‘Monday Night Messiah’ noted that their upcoming SummerSlam showdown is going to be their third-only singles match on a WWE PLE. They first collided back at Money in the Bank in 2016. That night, Rollins won the WWE title from Reigns.

One on one, Roman and I have only had, I want to say this will be our third singles pay-per-view match ever. We had one in 2022 at the Royal Rumble, which I won. Then we had one in 2016 at Money in the Bank, which I also won. But for two guys who’ve been as prominently featured as we are in WWE for the last 14 years, to only have three is pretty wild, I would say.

It took them six years to stand across from each other on a premium live event again. And it happened at the Royal Rumble in 2022, which was the only time Reigns and Rollins had gone one-on-one during The Tribal Chief’s 1316-day reign as the world champion.

‘The Architect’ won via disqualification when Reigns refused to break the Guillotine choke hold that he had locked in on Rollins. Speaking on the aforementioned podcast, the Chicago Bears superfan found it pretty wild that the two of them have just wrestled twice on PLEs with their third match yet to happen.

Both Reigns and Rollins have been a staple of WWE programming for the past 14 years and their careers have been tied to each other since the moment they burst on the scene. However, the fact that WWE has intentionally avoided long spells of them wrestling each other is why there’s an added mystique to their SummerSlam clash.

‘The Head of the Table’ needs to beat ‘The Visionary’ to better his record and get rid of the ghosts of Seth Rollins for once and for all. Meanwhile, the latter has his own motivations. As he said on this week’s Raw, he needs to oust Reigns to prove to every young aspiring kid out there that one can achieve greatness through hard work and making the necessary sacrifices.

LA Knight went off on Seth Rollins for Roman Reigns match on Raw

When Seth Rollins was airing his grievances about Roman Reigns on Raw this week, he got cut off midway by LA Knight. ‘The Megastar’ was livid at the fact that Rollins was going to challenge for the world title even after losing in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament.

Knight also explained how he got stuffed into the barrel every time he had momentum on his side. At first, it was Reigns’ Bloodline that held him down and the numbers game got to him once again last year when Rollins was leading the Vision. But he vowed to rise this time around.

‘The Architect’ understood LA’s frustration and assured that his time will come. Seth Rollins was in no mood to pick a fight with ‘The Defiant One’ as he had a bigger fish to fry. Rollins, however, told Knight he could be the first in line to step up to him when he takes the world title off of Reigns at SummerSlam.
