LeBron James and Joel Embiid are teammates for the first time since their time together for Team USA at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Both players played instrumental roles in helping their team win the gold medal.

There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers heading into next season. With James and Jaylen Brown joining the likes of Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, the 76ers are seen as strong contenders to win it all next year.

James has refused to do a media conference after his move to Philly. However, he is back in the gym as he prepares himself for the 2025-26 campaign.

Similarly, Embiid is back to training as well. The 76ers center posted photos of himself working out with Edgecombe on Wednesday. The photos caught the attention of James, who reposted it on his Instagram story. The caption was:

Trust The Process.

After the trades, Giannis Antetokoumpo and Brown, James’ move to the 76ers was the biggest move of the offseason. Following his signing, the 76ers are seen as favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference alongside the defending champions, the New York Knicks.

While he was expected to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Miami Heat, the King decided to take on a new challenge by joining a franchise that has not won a championship since 1983. He is also looking to become the first player in league history to win a title with four different teams.

However, James’ decision to sign with Philly was not as straightforward as it seems. It was reported that the four-time champion had concerns over Embiid’s health. The former MVP’s career has been plagued with injuries since entering the NBA. But he personally assured James that he is finally having an injury-free summer this year.

With a fit and healthy Embiid, it will be hard to bet against the 76ers next season. All eyes will be on them as they look to make it past the second round after 25 years.

The 76ers have woefully underperformed in the postseason over the last decade. While injuries have not been kind to Joel Embiid and the 76ers, they have not made it past the Eastern Conference Semifinals since 2001.

James’ caption “Trust The Process” is a famous phrase associated with the 76ers. It started during the tenure of the then-General Manager Sam Hinkie in 2013. The process was a multi-year rebuilding strategy as they accumulated a number of draft picks and young assets.

Embiid is the center of the whole process. Unfortunately, the 76ers have struggled to produce results in the postseason. However, after acquiring Brown and James, it looks like they have reached the final product of their project.

While the 76ers do have a few doubters, there is no denying that they arguably have the most dominant starting five in the NBA as presently constructed. It will take time for all of them to build team chemistry, but if they stay fit and healthy, the 76ers have all the tools to win the championship next year.

Joel Embiid is fully healthy and no longer dealing with any restrictions

After the arrival of LeBron James, the pressure on Embiid is higher than ever. The big man is the only MVP in league history to not reach the Conference Finals to date. With the new additions, he looks highly motivated and excited for the upcoming season.

Philadelphia 76ers team president Mike Gansey announced that Embiid is fully healthy and no longer dealing with any restrictions.

This is one of the first offseasons that he’s healthy going into. There are no restrictions. He’s already been in the gym, working out and spending time in the weight room. I think he’s lifting five days a week, his body looks good, and he’s trimmed down a little bit. He’s in great shape and in a great place. With two months to go, he’s excited and motivated.

Embiid’s health gives early optimism for Philly fans, who have been deprived of postseason success for a long time now. With multiple players capable of taking over a game on any given night, the NBA world is more than just excited to see them take to the court.
