When it was announced that LeBron James would depart from the Los Angeles Lakers after eight years, the NBA world was sent into a frenzy. It was an unexpected decision as many believed he would end his career in LA.
While the ‘King’ continues to defy father time like never seen before, he is well past his prime. However, his performances during the playoffs last season showed that he could still contribute in a championship-contending team.
Following his exit from the Lakers, a number of teams contacted James’ camp and showed interest in signing him. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves were the frontrunners. But in the end, he decided to sign with the 76ers.
In a newly dropped Adidas commercial, Anthony Edwards roasted James and made several jokes to a live audience.
Speaking of old school, you see where big dog ended up? He was gon’ join me in Minnesota but I guess his knees couldn’t handle the cold weather.

While Anthony Edwards did not mentioned any names, it was clear that the roast was directed at James. This is not the first time that he has done an Adidas commercial trolling his counterparts.
Earlier this year, Edwards and Adidas worked on a commercial that took shots at Luka Doncic, Victor Wembanyama and his other rivals.
This time, it was James’ turn to get roasted. The four-time champion was linked to the Wolves during free agency. The rumors brought in a lot of excitement as it would see James and Ant-Man join forces in Minnesota.
The Wolves star even made a pitch to James hoping to get him to join his team. Unfortunately for him, James decided to sign with the 76ers on a two-year deal.
Anthony Edwards roasts LeBron James for his hairline and made a subtle jab at Jaylen Brown
Prior to James’ signing, the 76ers kickstarted their offseason by trading for Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. It was one of the biggest acquisitions of the summer till they signed James. Some fans believe that this summer has turned the 76ers into the one of the most dominant teams in the NBA.

During the commercial, Edwards even targeted James’ new teammate in Philly, Jaylen Brown.
We know why he really made that decision. Philly got some of the best barbers in the world. Between him and ol’ boy from Boston, they gonna have a whole lotta enhancements. I’m just playing y’all. No pun intended.

James has dealt with a receding hairline since his mid-20s, and Edwards did not shy away from roasting him for it. Ant-Man has built a reputation for his personality and comedic antics since entering the league in 2020.
The roasting of James and Brown will add some spice when the 76ers take on the Wolves next season. Their first match is scheduled to take place on January 16 and their second game on March 14.
Anthony Edwards roasted his new teammate LaMelo Ball
The Wolves may have missed out on LeBron James, but that has not stopped them from being active in the offseason. With Edwards in the prime of his career, the Wolves made some big moves to surround him with the right players.
In one of the most surprising moves of the summer, they traded for LaMelo Ball from the Charlotte Hornets.
The move has generated a lot of buzz in Minnesota. However, even Ball was not safe from Edwards’ roasts.
I’m excited about my new road dog. They brought my twin to the Twin Cities. We’ve been doing all types of things. But one thing we ain’t doing is carpooling if he’s driving.

The roast was directed at Ball’s driving. The point guard was involved in two car accidents during his time with the Hornets. The most recent accident took place in February this year.
While the younger Ball brother came out unscathed, his driving history has been a matter of concern. Hence, he hired a new personal driver in Minnesota after joining the Wolves.
Nevertheless, the newly formed backcourt duo of Ball and Edwards is expected to create a supercharged and high-paced offense next season.
