Potential winners for the 2022 Royal Rumble Match

Potential winners for the 2022 Royal Rumble Match

The Royal Rumble is one of the year’s most important and awaited WWE pay-per-views. Since 2018, thirty men and women have contested in the quad circle with the hopes of defeating 29 other contestants and earning an opportunity to headline Wrestlemania for the WWE championship. The Royal Rumble is usually full of twists and turns, and its unpredictable nature distinguishes it from other WWE PPVs.

The event is always spectacular, as it connects wrestling fans from all over the world, whether it’s an unexpected comeback of a previous star or an unforeseen Royal Rumble victory. The tournament also serves as a warm-up for the Grandest Stage of Them All, and it gives us a glimpse of who might be the future world champion. There are a lot of excellent wrestlers on the current WWE roster, and each one of them has the ability to perform this astounding feat. Here’s a sneak peek at which male superstars can potentially find glory in the Royal Rumble match.

Former WWE Champion Big E

At the WWE Day 1 pay per view, Big E surprisingly lost his WWE title to Brock Lesnar. For a babyface challenger, possessing a face winner of the big match pursuing a championship that was either theirs beforehand or that they’d never won before is usually a fantastic ride.

WWE could put up a great storyline in which Big E tries to prove that he’s capable of winning the belt without using a Money in the Bank cash-in and that his victory wasn’t just luck.

Grand Slam Champion AJ Styles

AJ Styles is incredible. It’s a catchphrase, but it’s also wholly correct. He has the ability to pull off matches and moments that only a few wrestlers in the world can. A four-decade career demonstrates the magnificence of this once-in-a-generation genius.
In 2021, he made history by becoming the first wrestler to hold both the WWE and TNA/IMPACT Wrestling Grand Slam titles.

Styles is currently one of the top wrestlers in the world, and he understands how to put on a show. Adding a Royal Rumble victory to his vast list of achievements would be a significant achievement. As a singles participant, AJ Styles has a chance to win the Royal Rumble this month. He then has the option of challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

Sami Zayn

After stunningly becoming the number one contender for Reigns’ Universal Championship, only to be waylaid by Brock Lesnar and defeated in seconds in his championship match, Zayn could be an intriguing choice for the Rumble, and could even set up the main event babyface turn that many fans have been clamouring for since his debut and NXT run.

Zayn has conflicts with both Lesnar and Reigns, and while he isn’t particularly persuasive as a heel contender, turning face could be the best way to make him into a major event star.

Kevin Owens wins and challenges the NXT champion

Kevin Owens is yet to win a Royal Rumble match.  He has held the titles of NXT, Universal, Intercontinental, and United States Champion, but he has yet to win the Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania.
He has the option of doing so this time and returning to his old haunts. The Prizefighter has a long history in NXT, and it is indisputable that he has helped to establish the brand.

If Owens wins the Royal Rumble, he may decide to challenge The Blackheart for the NXT Championship. Who wouldn’t want Kevin Owens vs Tomasso Ciampa at Wrestlemania? I definitely would!  This would also pave the way for a Champion versus Champion, Brock vs Roman at Wrestlemania.

The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns!

Roman Reigns’ match against Brock Lesnar at WWE Day 1 was called off as the Tribal Chief was found out to be COVID-19 positive. Brock then was added to the WWE championship match, making it a fatal-5-way which he ended up winning. So this is the scenario now: Brock Lesnar: WWE Champion & Roman Reigns: Universal Champion.

We all know Roman reigns vs Brock Lesnar is on the cards for Wrestlemania and what better way could it be than setting it up at the Rumble itself. We all know what Brock did in 2020 as he entered the Royal Rumble match in spite of being the WWE Champion. Well, Roman could do it this time and win the match, just to challenge Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania making it a Winner-takes-all match.
