Aaron Rodgers continues to rewrite history books in the NFL. Even at 42, the veteran quarterback is making defenses pay with touchdowns.
On Sunday, Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Indianapolis Colts at Acrisur Stadium. Rodgers threw 22 completions for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns as his team won 34-22.
On the first play after Spencer Shrader scored a field goal, running back Jaylen Warren took Rodgers’ pass for an 80-yard touchdown.
Rodgers sat on 579 career NFL touchdowns (including playoffs), level with Hall of Famer Peyton Manning. When Warren entered the Colts’ end zone, Rodgers went past Manning as the league’s third-best touchdown maker. Rodgers has now thrown 582 touchdowns.
Anytime you’re in the same sentence as Peyton [Manning], that definitely does mean a lot to me.
Aaron Rodgers told Tracy Wolfson.

Rodgers took one fewer game (292) and fewer completions (6,324 passes) than Manning to accomplish the feat. Only two players have thrown more touchdown passes than Rodgers.
Saints’ legend and Hall of Famer Drew Brees (608) and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady (737). Rodgers doesn’t have much time in his hands to reach them.
Before the season began, the 4x league MVP confirmed that he would retire after 2026. Rodgers has to throw 2.2 touchdowns per game over the next 12 weeks to surpass Brees in the regular season.

Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers return to winning ways
Rodgers received heavy criticism after the Steelers lost to the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland last week. He completed 3 touchdowns but threw 2 interceptions and took 5 sacks in a 27-24 defeat.

Analysts questioned whether the Steelers’ coaches and players were on the same page after Rodgers was seen arguing with head coach Mike McCarthy during the game. None of that happened on Sunday.
The Steelers played fluid football and outscored the Colts by 12 points. Apart from scoring the 80-yard receiving touchdown, Warren also added a 50-yard score on the ground. Tight end Pat Freiermuth caught 2 touchdown passes, while rookie Germie Bernard caught 6 passes for 80 yards.
Rodgers has 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in the last three outings. In five weeks, Rodgers has accumulated 110 completions, 1,234 yards, 10 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
He also became only the second player after HOF Johnny Unitas to throw 50 career touchdown passes of 50-or-more yards.
Per NFL, Aaron Rodgers now has 50 career touchdown passes of 50-or-more yards and joined Pro Football Hall of Famer Johnny Unitas (51) as the only players with at least 50 touchdown passes of 50-or-more yards all-time. #Steelers #NFL

Aaron Rodgers praises Jaylen Warren
Warren didn’t score a single touchdown in the first four games. But on Sunday, he scored two—one receiving and one rushing touchdown.
Per NFL research, Warren became only the sixth player in league history and the first in 40 seasons with a receiving touchdown of 80-or-more yards and a rushing touchdown of 50-or-more yards in the same game.
He joined NFL icons Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, Harmon Wages, Herschel Walker and Delvin Williams in that exclusive list.
Per NFL, Jaylen Warren, with an 80-yard touchdown reception and 50-yard touchdown run, is the sixth player in NFL history and first in 40 seasons with a receiving touchdown of 80-or-more yards and a rushing touchdown of 50-or-more yards in the same game, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers Jim Brown (Sept. 15, 1963) and Gale Sayers (Dec. 12, 1965) as well as Harmon Wages (Dec. 7, 1969), Herschel Walker (Dec. 14, 1986) and Delvin Williams (Nov. 7, 1976). #Steelers #NFL

Rodgers praised the 27-year-old for his performance.
He’s [also] one of the slipperiest players I’ve ever been around.. [The] first guy rarely brings him down. He’s good inside the tackles, good outside the tackles. Always moving forward, always spinning, slipping out of plays, finishing runs. He’s one of the most liked players on the team, so guys want to block for him on the offensive line, and the tight ends and receivers.
Aaron Rodger said.
Aaron Rodgers praises Jaylen Warren after their win against the Colts: “First of all, he’s one of the best people I’ve ever been around. He genuinely cares about his teammates, and he cares about this game and doing things the right way. He’s also one of the slipperiest players I’ve ever been around. The first guy rarely brings him down, and he’s so dynamic with the ball in his hands. But I keep coming back to the kind of teammate he is. That’s why everybody loves him, wants to block hard for him, blocks downfield for him, and wants to get him the ball. He’s a special player. He leads by example, and we just have to keep giving him the rock.” #Steelers #NFL

Warren signed with the Steelers after going undrafted in 2022. He spent his first few years backing up Najee Harris. Last year, he shared snaps with Kenneth Gainwell and had 211 carries for 958 yards and 6 touchdowns.
After both Harris and Gainwell left, the Steelers entrusted Warren with the RB1 job. He became only the second undrafted Steelers running back to surpass 3000 rushing yards.
Next week the Steelers play the 1-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rodgers has a 3-3 record against the NFC South franchise.
