AJ Styles doesn't think that Kenny Omega has any major reason to leave AEW for WWE.

AJ Styles was recently asked if the fans will ever see Kenny Omega come over to WWE. Speaking on his Phenomenally Retro podcast, the ‘Face That Runs the Place’ was quick to wonder if there was even a rationale behind it. Styles noted how Kenny is one of the founding figures of All Elite Wrestling and has put his heart and soul into building that place up from scratch.
‘The Phenomenal One’ used himself as an example and explained why he wouldn’t want to go to AEW either. Styles said it’s because he loves working for WWE. The retired wrestler mocked those who’d likely knock at him for being a company stooge. He further added that his job is to give his best for whoever he’s answerable to.
AJ Styles was asked if he thinks Kenny Omega will ever be in WWE:

“Why? Why would you? He’s on the board when it comes to AEW. He’s put his heart and soul.
It’s like me. Would we ever see AJ Styles in AEW? Why? I like the company that I work for, despite what everybody else… pic.twitter.com/u8yopWvDzP
So, in his case, as he’s still employed with WWE, he’d bat for his peers and would defend them for everything they’re doing to put on a great show. It led him to reciprocate the same feeling for AEW because the people working there are trying their best to stand out and be the best they can.
AJ Styles says he will never bash AEW.

“I’ve said this before. It’s not me protecting WWE. It’s me protecting the people that work for WWE. My peers and the guys that I care about, the women that I care about that are there. So I will defend them because I know they’re busting… pic.twitter.com/AYhBioDqvO
AJ Styles had no problem with people who prefer one company over the other, but he was completely against bashing AEW just because it’s a different program. Prior to taking up that Kenny Omega question, Styles talked about the Best Bout Machine’s upcoming match with Will Ospreay at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30.
For the unversed, Omega defeated MJF this past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite Beach Break to begin his second reign as the promotion’s world champion. He’s now set to defend the world title against this year’s Owen Hart Cup winner, Will Ospreay. While discussing this match, AJ Styles understood why AEW is fast-tracking it.
The company’s EVP has, in recent years, endured a life-threatening battle with diverticulitis to get where he’s right now. It’s obvious that the Tony Khan-led promotion and Omega himself are aware that he’s much closer to the end of his career than he was a few years ago. Having said that, they’d want to get in as many Kenny Omega matches as he can pull off while staying healthy.
AJ Styles hopes WWE could revive Japanese wrestling after AAA success
In an excerpt from the aforementioned conversation, AJ Styles talked about the current state of Japanese wrestling. He wasn’t exactly sure about how bad of a toll the Covid-19 pandemic took on the ecosystem there, but AJ certainly heard it’s struggling at the moment.
Styles, who was a part of New Japan Pro Wrestling and even held their world title, besides being the leader of the acclaimed Bullet Club, hoped for WWE to find a way to have its presence in Japan.

‘The Phenomenal One’ envisioned a world where WWE purchases a wrestling company in Japan akin to what it has done with AAA in Mexico. The 49-year-old underscored how WWE isn’t meddling with the Lucha Libre culture and is only adding its spin on it. Styles said AAA wouldn’t be where it’s at now without coming under the WWE umbrella.
AJ Styles says he would love if WWE purchased a company in Japan like how they acquired AAA:

“I would love WWE to find a way to be in Japan, kind of like the way AAA is. We’re not changing what they’re doing. We’re not trying to change the culture. We’re just putting our spin on… pic.twitter.com/SDMYF3rVRw
Since becoming a WWE subsidiary, AAA’s accessibility has improved drastically, and the said promotion recently produced what many believe was one of the greatest feuds in wrestling history, let alone the Lucha Libre tradition—the Grande vs. Grande tussle for masked supremacy. AJ Styles thought WWE emulating its sister promotion strategy in Japan could revive the wrestling scene over there.
He even dreamed of a time when the wrestlers of AAA, a WWE-owned Japanese promotion; main roster talent from Raw & SmackDown; and even NXT could join forces to have crossover matches at WrestleMania someday.
Styles couldn’t have been more enthusiastic than he was while putting all that into words. He was having chills just thinking about how great it would be to see the worlds collide at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
