Allen Iverson Guarantees LeBron James-Led 76ers Will Win Championship

The Philadelphia 76ers have all the tools needed to win the NBA championship next year following the additions of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James in the summer. It has been 43 years since they last lifted the championship. In fact, the last time they made a Finals appearance was in 2001 with Allen Iverson as the main star.

Since Iverson’s run to the NBA Finals 25 years ago, the 76ers have failed to even reach the Eastern Conference Finals. After the disappointing end to their 2025-26 campaign, the 76ers front office has left no stone unturned in building a roster more than capable of winning it all.

The NBA world has already gotten a glimpse of the star-studded roster. While there is still a lot of work to do on team chemistry, early signs have been promising: they sit second in the Eastern Conference standings with a 3-1 record.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the 76ers this campaign. Many view them as championship contenders, and Iverson is fully buying into the hype.

I know for a fact it’s gonna happen. Because I’m confident in the ability of the guys we have on the roster. I’m confident in our coaching staff. And most importantly, we got the best fans in the world. They gonna show up and show out for us. This is it. We gonna have a parade. I promise you that.

Allen Iverson is one of the most beloved figures in Philly. While there may be a few doubters, the former MVP is confident that the 76ers have all the recipe for a historic season.

Did Allen Iverson tell LeBron James about his prediction?

When LeBron James confirmed his move to the 76ers, Iverson was one of the many to congratulate and celebrate the move. Prior to the signing of James, the 76ers had traded for Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics in a blockbuster trade.

With Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe on the roster, the 76ers have built the most dominant starting five in the league as presently constructed. They have multiple players who can just go off offensively on any given night.

After Iverson gave out his prediction, Jeff Skversky asked him whether he had told James about his prediction. He said,

He know it. I don’t have to tell him that. He’s been there, done it. You know what I mean? He’s had the recipe to be able to do it. He ain’t never had nothing like this.

The acquisition of the King has had a positive effect in the locker room. He arrives in Philly with the experience of four NBA championships. He brings in some much-needed leadership and playoff experience to the roster.

LeBron James gave a lot of consideration to rejoining the Cleveland Cavaliers

When LeBron James decided to join the 76ers in the offseason, it was received with mixed reactions. One of the main reasons being that he did not share any history or affiliation with the franchise or the city.

He was heavily linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers after he became a free agent. The Cavs even confirmed that they were in the hunt to sign their greatest-ever player.

The 41-year-old revealed that he did give it a lot of consideration before eventually deciding to sign for the 76ers.

The nature of the meeting, I probably won’t discuss much, but it was in consideration for sure. It was just a team that’s trying to build towards a championship, and things of that nature, and I was just trying to decide where I wanted to go with the rest of my career. A lot of consideration, for sure.

LeBron James says he gave “a lot of consideration” to rejoining the Cavaliers before signing with the 76ers this offseason: “The nature of the meeting, I probably won’t discuss much, but it was in consideration for sure.” “It was just a team that’s trying to build towards a championship, and things of that nature, and I was just trying to decide where I wanted to go with the rest of my career… a lot of consideration, for sure.” (via @PHLY_Sports)

James and the 76ers have already beaten the Cavs this season after mounting a 24-point turnaround. However, they did suffer their first loss of the season against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.

There is no doubting the 76ers’ offense. However, if they can defend at a high level, they have a great chance to make Iverson’s statement come true.
