Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury recently faced each other in a highly anticipated crossover showdown. It was Francis Ngannou’s debut fight, and he showed exceptional skill against the WBC champion.

After the controversial decision win for Tyson Fury, everyone wanted to know if they would get a rematch. Tyson Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, was recently present at The MMA Hour. There he said:

Tyson told me that he wants the rematch, and I know Ngannou wants it, because after the fight we were out there, we met at His Excellency's house and we had quite a lengthy conversation. He’s a nice guy, by the way. He’s a really nice guy, good team around him, and I’m quite sure we’ll do it again.

Francis Ngannou was the underdog going into the fight against Tyson Fury. However, he shocked the world as he secured the only knockdown of the entire fight. Ngannou knocked down Tyson Fury in the third round. Despite the knockdown, Fury won the bout by a controversial split decision. One judge scored the fight 95-94 in favor of Ngannou, who delivered the impactful knockdown. The decision sparked debate over the outcome.

Francis Ngannou was the former UFC heavyweight champion. He has a professional MMA record of 17 wins and three losses. Ngannou left the UFC due to contract disputes. Dissatisfied with the terms offered by the UFC, Ngannou became a free agent after failing to reach a new deal, resulting in the stripping of his heavyweight title in January of 2023.

Francis Ngannou has made his entry into the WBC heavyweight rankings. Ngannou secured the No. 10 ranking from the World Boxing Council (WBC) following his close split decision loss to Tyson Fury.

After being ranked #10 by the WBC, Francis Ngannou expressed his gratitude for the recognition. Overall, he seemed appreciative of the acknowledgment of his skills in the Battle of the Baddest clash against Tyson Fury. However, now Ngannou wants the rematch.

Ngannou stated that the rematch was his top priority. However, he will have to wait his turn. Tyson Fury will face Oleksandr Usyk in an upcoming heavyweight professional boxing match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The match will be a clash of champions, with Usyk’s WBA, IBF, and IBO titles on the line alongside Fury’s WBC belt, adding extra stakes to this highly-anticipated event.
