Callouts are a part and parcel of boxing. It is the beauty of the sport that rivals can verbally express their intentions of wanting to hurt someone they don’t like. The same happened between Teofimo Lopez and Terence Crawford. The two fighters have personal vendettas against each other and strive to prove themselves better than their opponent.

A few days ago, Teofimo Lopez questioned Terence Crawford’s legacy by saying the latter only fought injured fighters. He also had the following to say:

I did call out [Terence] Crawford... Every fighter Crawford has faced throughout the 147 division... they've been injured. Fight the best fighter at a healthier weight. Let's do it!

Crawford got heated at this callout. He lashed back at Lopez in a series of tweets on X. Crawford who recently beat Errol Spence Jr is considered to be the pound-for-pound number 1 fighter. Being called out for fighting fighters not at their 100% most definitely infuriated him.

Many fans also questioned Lopez’s intentions as he declined to fight Devin Haney. Calling Crawford out at a higher weight division than him has not sat well with the fans. However, whatever the issue between the two, the back-and-forth arguments entertain the fans. Also, if this fight happens, it will draw thousands of people to the arena and millions to their screens.

Terence Crawford strikes back at Teofimo Lopez’s comment questioning Crawford’s legacy

Terence Crawford is one of the few fighters who hasn’t lost his perfect boxing record. As a matter of fact, he completely dominated his last opponent Errol Spence Jr. Yet when Teofimo tried questioning the quality of opponents Crawford lost his cool. As mentioned above, Teofimo Lopez said that all the fighters that Crawford faced were injured and not at their 100 percent.

This is what Crawford tweeted after hearing what Lopez said:

Teofimo Lopez yo little b*tch a** better worry about them little guys that’s on yo a** down there in yo weight class. It crazy every time I see yo h** ass you don’t even look my way, but when you in front of a camera you got so much to say. You a pussy.

The two had a little back and forth on X, clearly showing their dislike towards each other. However, in the end, both fighters showed respect for each other. Crawford mentioned in his tweet that Lopez should focus on his next opponent instead of him so that he can do his best. Teofimo Lopez also responded by saying that he pleads the fifth.

Although we see fireworks on X, whether it will ever translate to the ring is a question on all boxing fans’ minds. Will Terence Crawford remain undefeated, or will he taste the bitter taste of loss via Teofimo Lopez? Only time will tell.
