Brandon Marshall worked hard to become a standout wide receiver of his generation. To instill a similar discipline in his son, Marshall has started training him really hard.

Marshall, 42, married Michi Nogami in 2010. They have three children. It was an unsuccessful marriage. The estranged pair signed the divorce papers in 2022. Three years after the separation, Marshall married Kristen Jacques.

Recently, Marshall instructed one of his sons to run close to the road while filming him from inside his car. The video went viral almost immediately.

Brandon Marshall faces backlash for his harsh training methods

Marshall hails from Pennsylvania, where people take football very seriously. So, starting one’s football education is part of the culture.

After graduating from Winter High School in Florida, Marshall attended the University of Central Florida. Four years and 1600+ yards later, the Broncos drafted him 119th overall in 2006.

Marshall played for six different teams in his long career. He caught 970 passes for 12,351 yards and scored 83 touchdowns, earning a couple of All-Pro and six Pro Bowl honors. He retired in 2019.

These days, fans can catch him hosting White House podcast on Netflix with HOF WR Michael Irvin. He also founded the sports media platform I AM ATHLETE, which focuses on athlete-led storytelling and long-form conversations.

While he’s not busy with his work, Marshall helps train his kids. And he shared a clip from one of their running sessions. However, it caused a lot of commotion. Marshall can be heard saying,

If you don’t start running, we’re going to go three miles. You don’t listen… We run 2 in the morning.

Fans called Marshall out by noting that it’s child abuse to make his son run in the middle of the night.

It may seem harsh, but Marshall seems to care about his kids. If anyone browses his Instagram account, they will notice several videos in which the former wideout is having a blast while working out with his kids.

So, it’s best to avoid jumping to any conclusions just yet. Then again, Marshall has gone completely radio silent on this matter. Fans are awaiting an answer from him.
