Caleb Williams showcased his competitive side once again. The third-year signal-caller looked animated after muffing a hard count at the spring training camp.

Video footage of the incident made it onto the internet. It showed Williams going through his cadence and drilling out instructions to the offense.

However, something went wrong because Williams stopped the count. He looked very animated afterwards.

Some fans on Twitter thought Williams was unhappy with his teammates. Ben DiNucci, former NFL quarterback, hypothesized that Williams wasn’t angry with his team, but rather with himself. The CBS Sports analyst wrote: “He ain’t heated at his team… He’s heated at himself – looks like he forgot what way the motion was supposed to be coming from.”

However, ‘PAT THE DESIGNER,’ a popular Bears content creator, provided a different explanation.

It was actually because Zavion was on the wrong side of the formation. Ben [Johnson] yelled, “Get Me Another Z In There!” After Caleb killed it, they re-ran the play with the right motion to a Dawt over the middle to Rome.

Until either Williams or head coach Ben Johnson provides the proper explanation, fans have to remain content with DiNucci and Pat’s theories.

Caleb Williams’ teammate gives generous endorsement to the Bears offense

The Bears hired Johnson, former Lions offensive coordinator, to fix the offense. The Bears won the division with an 11-6 record, scored more points than any Bears team in recent memory, won a playoff game, and nearly pushed the Rams to the limit in the divisional playoff game.

Williams’ completion percentage dropped below 60%, but he still threw for over 3900 yards, seven more touchdowns than in his rookie year, and kept his turnovers below ten. EA rewarded Williams by making him Madden 27’s cover athlete.

Johnson went to work in the offseason. His biggest move by far was allowing WR1 DJ Moore to join the Bills and relying on young guns to carry the offense. Aside from Khalif Raymond (31), the entire Bears receiver core is under 30. Luther Burden III is 22, rookies Zavion Thomas and Omar Kelly are 22, Jahdae Walker is 24, and Rome Odunze is 24.

Odunze is the most experienced among them and is trending toward taking over as WR1 in 2026. However, the final decision rests with Johnson. Regardless, veteran All-Pro corner Jaylon Johnson believes this is the best offense he has seen since becoming a Bear in 2020.

It’s the best offense I’ve seen in my 7 years… Caleb [William’s] the best QB I’ve had since maybe Nick Foles if you want to go back that far… He’s doing his thing. You can see the accuracy… the confidence.

Caleb Williams reacted to Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen’s rant

After an immensely successful first year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, leading them to a 13-4 finish, head coach Liam Coen expected the NFL to shine a bit more limelight on his team. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.

Earlier in the week, Coen joked that he sees the NFL cover Williams and the Bears more than his team. Coen’s playful taunt reached Williams’ ears. Bears Nation posted Coen’s interview on their timeline with the caption “Jaguars HC Liam Coen taking a subtle shot at Bears Caleb Williams and the media love he’s been getting…. Meanwhile, the Jags have [crickets].”

Williams shared the Bears Nation’s post on Twitter, seemingly throwing the ball back in Coen’s court.

Williams has played against the Jaguars once during his rookie year. Of course, Coen was still in Tampa Bay at that time. Regardless, Williams and the Bears won on that occasion. He threw for 226 yards, 4 touchdowns, and one interception in a 35-16 victory.

It’s great bulletin board material for both teams. This will play a big part on December 5, when the Bears host the Jags at Soldier Field.
